Aha! a website that actually prepares itself for the slashdot effect!
I agree. GTA is one of many testaments to the idea that you don't need to go purely 3D for a game to be fun. Although for some reason I didn't like GTA2 as much as the first.
Wouldn't this be putting an unnecessary load on Google and the Wayback machine? Not saying they couldn't handle the strain, but maybe if it was an option not enabled by default perhaps.
'Our survival strategy required switching to a talent-management business model,'' said Zorro Xu, managing director in China for Warner Music. ''As piracy increases in other countries, this is what record companies elsewhere may have to try.''
Talent-management? You mean, for an artist in China to actually be successful, they have to have some form of TALENT?! Yes, I DO hope other record companies elsewhere try this, yes indeed!
I downloaded and installed the windows client for this game, and it was buggy as hell! Lots of "bget heap corruption" issues. It's not as if my system has obscure hardware or anything either.
One other thing I didn't like is that it automatically sends bug reports without your confirmation and it doesn't even tell you what's in the bug report.
Unlike the new class of Tablet PCs, the device from StepUp Computing can be navigated by touching the display with any object, such as a stylus pen or your finger. It does, however, share capabilities, such as inking and handwriting recognition, with the more expensive machines.
I'm not that familiar with handwriting recognition, but does Lin(dows|ux) even have it?
CDex is also very good. It rips from CD directly to OGG, and has all the cool features of other CD rippers. You can create OGG albums with literally one click of a button. Did I mention it's an Open Source windows client? What more could you ask for?
IIP claims to be peer distributed, but does that mean there's no primary target for packet kiddies to inflict their hundreds of megabits of anger upon? If so, this indeed would be an ideal solution to the massive DDoS problems facing the big IRC networks lately (DALnet in particular).
I think the primary focus of IRC development at the moment should be on inventing methods to stop the packet kiddies, otherwise IRC's lifetime looks pretty bleak. Maybe distributed IRCing is the way to go?
"We also believe that providing ubiquitous, quality broadband service to the world, including those three billion people who have never had service, will be a viable business and remains a worthy mission,"
With a business model like this, it's no wonder they never got off the ground.

If you know words like philanthropic[sic], then maybe you should be submitting some book reviews?! :)

I know nothing about CDs or plastic, so correct me if I'm way off base, but "resistant to scratches" sounds like it'd be good for CDs/DVDs?..
I definately agree. Good PC speakers are extremely overpriced. People, buy a good hifi system instead! You'll be much better off for it.
Fusecon also have an Audio CD of music from scene-related artists. You can also download and listen to track previews!
Now this is the sort of DVD you don't want to see pirated.
