Just went to newsgoups(a.b.sony.psp) got the dutch version of the downgrader. Translated directions with bablefish and it works perfectly on my Lik-Sang Japanese import(white version was 2.6 firmware, now 1.5). Total time less than 5 minutes.
Since when is game code that important? WTF is in the game that got the feds involved. How does Valve rate this kind of assistance? Shit gets stolen everyday and nothing like this ever happens.
Anyways if this guy has half a brain he has backed up the important shit offsite like all good coders should do. As an offtopic thought, I wonder how they would do against Apple's filevault? Would they be able to crack it?
Well looks like we can all look forward to an even longer wait before the feature film starts while we watch " do not pirate movies" messages on top of all the other commercial crap. This is really getting old.
Where possible BitTorrent is your friend. If you can use it, let your customers help out with the bandwidth usage. They will probably get the file(s) quicker and you won't have servers getting torched.
If you want Unix tools and don't like Apple's, get Yellow Dog Linux and install mac-on-linux. I run my iBook that way and I have instant access to both OS's. No need to reboot to get to the other. OS X runs at near native speeds on top of MOL.
My ipod is a year and a half old. I use it mostly on long runs and bike rides. Never had a problem with it other than it doesn't have a long battery life below 40 deg F.

mod an xbox, you can map the external drives to the xbox and stream the full dvd stream to your tv set.

How about Rendezvous support? I think it would make Linux networking much easier to use.
