Every time I open my windows laptop at home it has a panic attack about the missing network drives. it's like, seriously Windows, VPN isn't new, just calm down and help me setup the connection and toss some ice in your underwear until then. Because of this foobar it also thinks I haven't saved any of my open documents.
Also, after a reboot, Mac OS has been recovering to having all of the applications in the same state I was in for over a decade. Why can't Windows do this yet? At first it was just a classic case of Apple inventing it and Windows lagging. At this point the OS is just pathetic.
Would you go to a car dealer and ask them about competitors cars hoping for unbiased commentary?
If google is a utility then they should be state controlled. If they are not, then I don't see why google shouldn't be able to control what's on its site.
It would be another thing if they were squashing competition. But plenty have tried, they just can't touch google for search results.
It's not a zero-sum game. When super productive people come to the US they can increase job opportunities for those around them. Look at this list of nobel laureates from the US many of them were not born in the US. You can't convince me that most of them they aren't making those around them better off than they otherwise would have been.
In the other extreme in the Mariel boat lift about 125,000 workers were added to Florida in a very short time. These folks wee not H-1Bs, they were citizens because of the asylum. The change in employment among Americans in Florida was basically zero. Don't get me wrong, a lot of people got really upset about it, but there wasn't a radical change in employment for those already in the US. You can read about it here.
It would help a LOT if the govt. would stop caving to electricity generating companies, and instead paying people a going market rate for the excess electricity. That would be incentive for people to install larger systems which would help the environment, sustainability, etc. Once again the corporate corruption of government hurts most of us. Hopefully We the People will find a way to unify and get our governments to listen and do what we want and need.
Just so that we're clear, there is only a market here if the government demands it. Otherwise there is nothing restricting you from pushing your power to the grid and making a deal with a power company.
In other words, it's not the government getting out of the way that you want, it's the government getting involved on your side.
Oh and since methane is a significant source of greenhouse gases I assume you want to kill every cow and pig on the planet and outlaw beef and pork.
Yup, because of that and also because they have efficiency of about 1/6th of a vegetarian diet. Take that land of of use for corn and you can grow grass there, sinking (huge amounts of) carbon into the top soil.
I agree nuclear is a good caseload option, and is needed for nighttime usage. However, the French cycle is enviable but mainly works because you play hot potato with the really nasty stuff and keep it in the existing reactors. When you shut them down or your cycle gets old enough you still have a really nasty mess on your hands.
Don't get me wrong, even with that, I'd still take nukes over coal. But at least admit there is a problem.
Says a guy who doesn't work in an industry that exports to China. I think you'd hear a pretty big cry of uncle form Trump's base if he actually started a trade war.
Coal burning has enormous economic costs, Just ask the national bureau of economic research who say that it should cost at least a factor of four more to offset just local costs.
If every computer company refused to put in more than 4GB in developer machines my system would run much more efficiently. The assumption that an OS can gobble 2 GB of memory out of the gate, and that crap.app can eat another 500 MB for no discernible reason is a huge problem.
Have you looked at the memory requirements for zip recently? It's something like 2MB + twice the buffer (which tops out a 4MB or something). Now THAT is good software.
They have built some of that "unbuilt" highway--and it helped a lot. The rest would have been super nice to have, and would have dramatically raised housing prices.
I lived in NYC for years and it was super easy to forget it was on the ocean. Especially in Manhattan where you are really never by the water (without having a freeway 16 feet from you). Yes the middle of the city is a bad spot to put a highway. But so is the waterfront.
whoa whoa whoa. So MS has the patches but only shares them if you pay? We need a national OS, big time. Windows has only been getting worse since XP, so the national OS would either start better than Windows or eventually become better--either way, it would be an improvement.
You pick up an investigation with a lie and then you dig and find all the lies around that lie. Then you see who it points to. It takes time but where there is smoke there is usually fire.

Right? I concluded that Linux is exactly as safe as I thought it was.
Windows fit for the desktop? What a joke.

I wouldn't use their cite because Red Fin has a way better site. Redfin's price estimates have also been far more accurate in my experience.
OK, so s/target/walmart/g and add that it's a rural area.
It's more like telling Target that they can't put their new product lines in the front of the store. People go to the site, they see what is there.
What makes it honest? I'd say that consumers keep coming back.
I don't use amazon search because it sucks and directs me away from products I want and towards higher priced ones. But, whatever.

They will be heavily raked South in the Winter so the snow will slide right off. The real problem is low productivity due to low radiation rates.

A capacitor separates charge. A battery uses a chemical reaction. The speed is just a side effect.

They had a super majority for 72 days, and Joseph Liberman, who had endorsed McCain, was part of that so called supermajority.

You can't do that when the bedrock is swiss cheese. Florida is in trouble.

Again, I'd like to see the Trump emails. I want the recipes, the visits to pizza shops, all of it.

Who pays any attention to CNN? Who makes a big server that just accepts email from a few people?
