The vast majority of the poor are not homeless and are not starving. They are more thankful for what they have than are the rich, and don't resent them as much as they fear the prospect of being homeless or starving. The stress of common poverty is being one minor illness away from the lost income and expense that could get them evicted, or worse.
Committing your life to retail? Really?
You have to be a sick fuck yourself to be obsessed about pleasing sick fuck consumers who are obsessed about getting toys NOW.
Thos. Edison was an archetype of the innovative entrepreneur, and he was not a "idea person". He was a relentless prototyper, experimenter and learner.
Learning by doing is essential. Ideas have to be generated, tried and qualified (and mostly rejected) by doing, not just thinking.

FWIW, I remember this brilliant (to me) math professor who taught me abstract algebra back in the '80s. She carried around Rubik's cube key chain, and would solve it in moments while explaining the group theory behind it. She was in awe of us in CS, and that programming stuff we did--it was just beyond her.
The modern cultural cadres in charge tell us that diversity is A Good Thing, to be sought as an end in itself. So why do we all have to be programmers? I'm glad Bohr and Einstein didn't bother with this shit. Or Cézanne and Picasso.

RSA should not have settled for a cent less than 1 MILLION dollars.
My object. It's bigger.
Hint: "Armed security officers" can also be untrained overpaid mouthbreathers with power trip issues.
Then we'll clearly need some protection from them. Some kind of guards with guns would be best.
