If I were the advertiser, I'd say they weren't doing their job. Their job is to get my message in front of the viewers, and they can't pull their shit together and get people to watch.

So really, shouldn't the advertisers be pissed that it takes 4 months for a show to hit the air? That has to negatively affect viewership. Hence the hubbub over BT downloads, right?

She's not just rich, she's damn rich. She also plays the part of being mentally handicapped quite well. In truth, I suspect she's quite smart and a ridiculously hard worker. You just can't be an idol to teens if you're way over their head and too normal to get attention. Perhaps some of us could even take a lesson, and learn to compromise some ego in return for some finacial success. Well, not me, but other people. :)

No, I expected it would be like Family Video operates. Unofficially, you can just never pay your fines. They did exceptionally well because when people had fines at BB, they just never rented there again. If you have fines at Family, you go in and just rent more movies. Which one makes more money on you?

When it turned out that it was 7days past due date they bill you for the movie, then you can return it in 30 days, then if you bring it back they charge you a seemingly arbitrary reshelving fee... it started getting a little bit confusing. I'm still not sure I have it exactly right.

Fortuantly, I DID get the info ahead of time, but it was not only a bit more complex than they suggested, it was more complex than I would have expected.

Even worse, I had to pry this information out of an employee who had been stricly instructed to only hand people pamphlets with legalese in them. He took mercy on me and gave me the quick lowdown.

Even I am not immune to this sort of scamming for info. While out drinking with friends (drunk actually) I was approached by an attractive female working for Marlboro. She would give me cheap cigarette coupons and a free Zippo lighter if I let them give me a survey. Drunk, distracted, and clueless, I swiped my license and took the survey. I have been getting coupons and various "gifts" in the mail since. I could have been completely duped by these people and not had a single clue. Luckily they were who they said they were and I'm not seeing any miscellaneous charges being rung up by any cigarette companies trying to cover their lawsuits with my money. Anyone (no matter how careful) can be owned. By the way - I don't even smoke cigarettes.

Yeah, the copper zippo! I have one. And I love that they send me the coupons, decks of cards, CDs, all kinds of cool stuff. If they're going to be my choice of cancer providers, at least they can give me cool shit to get buried with.
