Except my 2 year old has better conversations than that. 5 year olds usually know english quite well, they just don't understand things like bills, responsibility, and stress... Oh to be 5 again.
Dean supports the death penalty and says so right on his own website
I don't see anywhere he says whether he is PRO or CON death penalty... Only that it should be administered after a Fair trial and to evaluate the current system to make sure it is Fair and Reliable. He could oppose it or support it - we don't know. All he says is he wants the system we have to work better - not try to rewrite the system.
The death penalty is wrong on all levels.
That is your opinion. Many people disagree. But whatever the system we use - it should be fair. Only people who are actually guilty should be convicted. And once convicted they should recieve their designated punishment quickly, and fairly.
Two people have been exonerated after their executions. There is no justice for them.
The system is improving (by your own statement you seem to say that). But the fact is that some people have committed heinous crimes. Where were the victims justice or rights?
Sometimes I think death is TOO SOFT for some criminals. Sometimes I think they should suffer the same punishment their victims had to. But the system needs to be as accurate and fair as possible - NO MATTER WHAT THE PUNISHMENT.
Well, Mr. Jason C. Rines CEO EmailResults.net, I thank you for your post (which I consider +1 Informative/Interesting). But while you are working on solving the world's SPAM problems, can you learn how to use a little bit of HTML and put paragraphs in your posts? That was a tough read with no breaking it up...
I live in the desert... Electric bills going through the roof
If you live in the desert are you using Solar or Wind power at all? In New Mexico we heated ALL our hot water with Solar - even in the winter when outside temps were below freezing. And we ran much of our stuff off solar electricity. Neighbors had wind generators too. That was in the early 80s. And the technology has improved in the last 20 years, so now it should be much more efficient and cost effective. Heck, even home fuel cel units are starting to show up...
Actually, all of those movies are probably OK. But any time you expect people to pay $10 a person for a movie, and another $10 a person for popcorn - the movie has to be DAMN GOOD. Otherwise, it gets labled as sucky. Now, lots of movies are watchable, and enjoyable on DVD where they cost $2 for a WHOLE FAMILY to watch with the $2 BIG BOWL of popcorn, a pause button and a bathroom that has been cleaned this century. Sorry, but in order for me to pay too much money, for a crappy uncomfortable seat, with annoying people text messaging next to me, and crappy expensive pop-corn - the movie better be damn good. Otherwise, I'll keep my money, thank you very much. Text that!

Vote Dean!!!
Obviously this person is trying to get people to "misplace" their votes on Howard Dean . Please ignore ACs who tell YOU who to vote for. You do the research and vote for the cantidate YOU agree with.
And as an aside - can the AC who posted this show me *1* case where the ACLU fought something *simply* because it was Christian? In other words - Christians are not always right, especially not simply because they are Christians. The ACLU has never sued anyone for praying. They *have* worked to stop governmentally funded or endorsed prayer.
Why is it so wrong to donate money to the ACLU when just about every Christian church asks for 10% of your income? Do Christian organizations and churches not lobby and influence politics?
After upgrading all that you'll be practically 1/20th of the way to a new system. Forget the upgrade! Just get a new dual G5, Max out the RAM and disk space, grab a 23inch monitor, iSight, 30GB iPod, and an Airport Extreme. Might as well, it's the economy we're talking about here! Without sales tax or rebates, were only looking at $11,790 unless of course you want dual monitors. I saved you a cool $29 by leaving out the modem. You can use that towards the new mouse!
All jokes aside, I would think it is a good thing to slow down port scanners, makes it harder to hack as many boxes if they all take 20 seconds to finish the port scan, right?
There is nothing wrong with having the same comments.

I was going to try and be witty (gasp!) and post the same comment...hehe - but Slashdot picks up that with it's lameness filter:
This exact comment has already been posted. Try to be more original...
So oh well. Oh, and I don't think the parent is exactly flamebait - I mean, do we really consider the code comments to be an integral part of the *code*?
I guess it does hold some merit though - as they are a part of the work as a whole... We may never know...
1. I think exactly 3 people in this discussion have actually read the article. Maybe less.
2. This is simply rediculus. The "upkeep" of a computer is the responsibility of the owner - not M$. People like using cars as an analogy. Well, YOU have to maintain your own car. YOU have to change the oil and the timing belts and fuel filters and air fiters etc etc etc... If failure to do any of the required maintenance causes mechanical failure - the car maker warranty is void and YOU are responsible for the cost of repairs. If YOU drive the car poorly, or hit too many potholes, or take the passenger car off-roading, YOU will be responsible for repairs. If there is a flaw that is the fault of the car maker - they usually will fix it for free - and notify users via a recall, but YOU are responsible for bringing the car in and YOU are responsible for keeping up to date about recalls.
I don't know about you, but when I pay > $20k US for something I expect a good amount of service to be included, but most comsumer computers nowadays are costing lessthan $500 US and people *still* want all the problems fixed for free...
People are responsible for their own crap. If they don't like it they should not use computers. If they cause too many problems the ISP should disconnect them or charge them a nuisance fee. If YOU don't like that THEY don't secure their systems, secure YOUR system and there's no big deal. How hard would it have been for ISPs to simply block all RPC traffic on their network? People have a basic responsibility for their own actions that we are starting to move away from. For some reason no one is ever responsible for anything anymore... Except M$ and the government of course...
I don't know about my camcorder. Just my Digital Camera. My camcorder I have never needed any other batteries after my initial 2... But then the digital camera can even take "regular" AA batteries too (albeit they last like three pictures only)...
How can it spread at an exponentially increasing rate, since once it "infects" it fixes the hole? Wouldn't it by it's very nature then spread quickly at first but then begin to slow? I hope they built some sort of "timeout" into it though, so that if it doesn't find any open machines within x amount of time it stops. Otherwise we'll have a million machines sitting around trying to find a bunch of machines that have already been patched.
Hmm. I can use non-infolithium batteries on my Sony Camera and Camcorder... Again, I agree when it comes to the media. But I just don't see the issue with the batteries. Point taken on the lenses though. (Although the Canon fast autofocus is worth every penny).
OK, I can see the issue with the media. But what is the big deal with the Batteries? Who cares what they use.. It's not like you need to use the same battery on the camera as in your laptop and to power your car... Did I miss something? Propietary is only *bad* if you need to share things across boundaries. My Canon lenses for my SLR are propietary and are damn good... I don't care that they won't fit on a Nikon...
I have been using MemoryStick (tm) and Lexar generic memory stick media with 2 different Macs with no problems whatsoever. I have a Sony digital camer, a Sony miniDV camcorder, and 2 Sony Clie PDAs. All working fine.
You can't. It is to help protect people from links saying they are to something useful but really to Goatse. It is better for us all. You *can* however change your viewing settings to not show them, in the slash user preferences. That of course requires you to login, so ACs always have to deal with the default settings.

Right. But now we have Everquest...
Only not as long and pointless.
Who's 5 year old boy? I know some 5 year olds that are outpaced by R.O.B..

So I guess we were all right, eh? Depending on definitions of "before" and related terms. ;)

At least they are being honest and letting people know that the definition isn't strictly correct. I bet that Apple etc. don't.
Apple is honest, despite what your bias would have you believe. iPod Specs says right there under "Storage":"10GB(2) 15GB(2) 30GB(2)".
Look to the bottom and you will see: "(2) 1GB = 1 billion bytes; actual formatted capacity less."
Seems honest enough to me.
