"This is the first time I've actually paid attention to a presidential election, so I'm not sure what this means exactly. Is exit polling usually accurate?"
With cnn (and others) changing their mind about
florida I would have to say no.
"There is a
suggestion that the birds will increase their
movement when they get flown over at a low
height. This can make them run away and
could obviously endanger their eggs."
I wonder how much grant money it took to figure
that out....
"You'd think for a few hundred million dollars they'd find something better than an AOL account?"
Galileo was launched in 1989 and probably took
two tears to build. Also keep in mind that "dependable" is far more important than "cutting edge" technology so they would have used older tech. ( I think the space shuttle is just now upgrading to pentiums from 486 'puters).
"If America doesn't even think it's got enough money to pay reparations to those of African ascent for the harms done by slavery, why do we have enough money to go to mars?"
That's an amazing question. Rather than try to anwser it I will give you a link to review.

"Phillips says that Tux2 offers Linux users the chief advantage of a journaling
filesystem (namely, keeping files safe in the event of a system crash) but
without a journal, and does so more efficiently."
"Linux lacks a commercial quality Journaling File System. This means that in the
event of a system failure (such as a power outage) data loss or corruption is
possible. In any event, the system must check the integrity of the file system
during system restart, a process that will likely consume an extended amount of
time, especially on large volumes and may require manual intervention to
reconstruct the file system."
I wonder what Microsoft will say if Tux2 takes off?
keyless keyboard...
This that anything like a bandwithless server?
Here's a little "how to" put it on a web page for those that care. (requires php)
1. Create the file vote.sh in your root web dir
2. chmod it 755
3. add the following code to your web page:
<?
//show current florida vote
system('./vote.sh > vote.txt');
include("vote.txt");
?>
Note: This is quick and dirty and probably not the safest way to do it.
I would be surprized if there ever is a Linux
version. Netzero makes their money from the
banner ad rotator.
How long do you think it would take to "fix"
that peskey add rotator thing in Linux?

WTF is up with that?
they do exit polling...
Gore just got Pennsivania...Game over!
Someone find a ip # on this kid so we can ./

Monica Moorehead? I saw this on the ballet
today and thought I was going to die laughing.
Color me paranoid but I think microsoft is up
to no good....Hacked twice in a couple of weeks?
"Of course that half-pound machine is going to have a hell of a surface temperature! "
Yup....It well take a cooling umit the size of
2 basketball courts to cool it...
"There is a suggestion that the birds will increase their movement when they get flown over at a low height. This can make them run away and could obviously endanger their eggs."
I wonder how much grant money it took to figure that out....
"Free (as in beer) posters. (You just have to figure out how to get past their poorly coded form validation to order one...). "
What does Tripwire get for open sourcing their
product?
20,000 free poster orders from leeching slashdoters! Shame on you!
(Of course I went and ordered my free poster before bitching about it...)
just a guess but they are probably using Litestep as well.it would be the easiest way to get the screen shots in director.

Thanks for reminding me... I forgot one.
6. Furby MUD server
"Once Furby has been hacked, my goal is to give it a Java API allowing the device to become a general Java engine."
You know what's coming next...
1. Furby Webserver
2. Furby Home based mail server
(see earlier story)
3. Furby Quake engine
4. Furby running Linux
...and finally
5. The BeoFurby Custer
AAHHHHH!
"...and yet he has produced one of the most cutting edge of contemporary paintings"
Here's my cutting edge "painting".
I have simply titled it: "X"
Now where's my grant money?
Your waaay to late on that idea.

You don't need traffic lights. People flying

I wonder what Microsoft will say if Tux2 takes off?
"If we patented these methods of world destruction, could the human race survive forever?"
No, But if we patented "1 click" world distruction then the world would be safe for at least 5 to 7
years while the legal battle ensued.
