Not at all. The issue I have is the discrepancy in amounts. $7500 is targeted to make it just cheaper than dealing with a lawyer. The $150k is statutory damages designed to deal with commercial infringement.
Settling out of court is fine if it is in good faith. This is not a good faith offer, it is merely a protection racket. They don't even need to have a case since it will cost you more to fight than to pay.

I would hate to see people who avoided polio because of Mr. Gates generosity die of something else that could have been treated but patent agreements prevented them from getting affordable treatment. Buying patents on some drugs and making them free to produce would likely save a great many lives. It would also prevent the situation where a charity kills off jobs the locals need by killing the market for that good.
That is because online courses make it very easy to cheat.
A simple work around, would be that all exams are given at some proctored location. So you take a test with folks taking exams for all kinds of other degrees and you can come in any time to take it. This means you really only need one such testing center per major city.
Another factor is makes these degrees more available, which lessons their attractiveness to normal students. My university switched from quarters to semesters and retention went way up, as a grad I know this means my degree has now been devalued. If they let people google their way to a degree, or could hire out their course work online, my degree would be worth even less.
While I am inclined to believe I would love a citation for that.
Personally I think we should get rid of all driving while intoxicated/under the influence statutes and replace them with driving while unfit. A set of reaction time tests should be used and failure for any reason should mean a driving while unfit charge. For the record I do drink likely too much, I do not however drink and drive. Even having a single beer means I will take my time (at least an hour) at a restaurant or a nice walk (to wait longer, not because of some idiotic exercise getting rid of alcohol idea) after before I get behind the wheel and even then only if no one else is there to drive.
Since they would prefer no religion they do not place one mythology over another. Thus they have the same preference for all religions, and would prefer none.

Anyone who drinks regularly is like not that impaired at those levels. If I am as impaired at 0.1 as you are are at 0.05 why can I not drive at 0.1?
