No since none of those things apply to the situation at hand.
Driving is generally a legal activity, so is homeschooling as is concealed carry of a handgun. All three are regulated to some degree and society has decided you can lose the privilege of doing them under some circumstances.
Purposefully under educating children is abuse. You are making sure they will be unsuited to operate in society and stealing their future. How is that not abuse?
I think both are reasonable. Just because people (which is what the government is/represents) decide to restrict an activity does not mean that activity is illegal. Nor does it mean that it is not abuse to fail in the care of a child.
That is one kind of restriction that does not apply to driving, but does to get a concealed carry permit in my state. Niether are illegal, both require permits/licenses.
Unless you ask them about evolution or the age of the universe.
Face it homeschooling falls into two camps people who deeply want their kids to get the best education and the religious nutters who want to keep their kids ignorant. One is something no one care about the other is just child abuse.
When parents are the ones doing the homeschooling you can.
Even you admit that most of these cases are religious nutters. I am not sure why they don't just test for some knowledge and terminate homeschooling for that family if the kids fail.
If these people educate the kids, which is generally the opposite of what home schooling is about. Most of these people want to indoctrinate their children into some crazy religion. Why should that kind of child abuse be legal? Why should a child be denied the ability to even operate in society later?
Moral hazard? You act as though they give on iota of a fuck about the children's data. If there was a nice piece of candy in it for them they would hand it over.
Most of the calories you eat are being made with lots and lots of fossil fuels both for fertilizer and even basic processing like separating wheat from chaff.
Sure a car is worse, but cyclists and all humans at this point are increasing net CO2 just by eating.
Or it is a very good school, and those who graduate are benefitting highly.
Failing out people is something a university should do. If more than 50% of people can graduate in 4 years than it should be closed down as it is clearly not strenuous enough to deserve accreditation.
That was where the idea of using evacuated tube solar heaters came in, ground source heat pumps being another option since the pump power can come from a panel. It is not like England ever gets that cold. Right now in London it is above freezing there, and this is the beginning of march. Even most northern city in the UK Out Stack, Shetland Islands is above freezing. So it is not like London is some outlier.
The issue here is only that the initial investment would be very high, but it should be quite possible.
Slaves have an even lower carbon footprint. I think the western model of lowering populations with a higher standard of living is far better than a low carbon footprint per person while breeding like mad.
If they charged $50 upfront they would have no takers, so instead they charge $0 and attempt to trick people into spending an unlimited sum. With an honest price structure a user could analyze the cost, they are trying to make that more difficult since that is how this scam works. If they even had a max $/time unit that would be a lot more honest.
That was the point I was trying to make. My last sentence should have included grown without any extra energy input not naturally available.
I wonder if over the longer term greenhouse hydro tomatoes could not come out pretty much neutral, assuming you can get away with solar heating only, maybe using evacuated tubes to heat water to heat the structure. I am sure the timeline would be very long though.
I am not sure, I think he is just an idiot. Looks like whoever operates that alt got sick of it and is fine using it to troll until he has no karma left.
This is not some game that would normally have a monthly fee, This si a $5 mobile type game. If they stopped charging you at $5 I would agree, in this case that is not what is going on. There are lots of other things they charge you for as well, so it is not just new players paying up.
I buy them in dollars. Even if I held bitcoins I would do that since they are not gaining value everyday. Actual bitcoin users are doing exactly that. See the problem?
Actually most people agree which is why the wii outsold the other consoles. The games cost $100 million because they use that to prove they are AAA. I bet a lot of that goes to useless folks anyway.
That is a choice they make nothing they have to do.
Besides the games can be used as a purchase verification method and new binaries downloaded. When you have access to the team that built the console making an emulator even if you have to use some amount of old hardware is far easier.
Lots of games still have user host-able servers. Valve games for example. Building a game with portal dependence and no alternative is just a recipe for being able to kill the game when the sequel ships.
First party games can be ported. If they were properly designed that should not be hard. The disk can be used for purchase verification. Sure that costs money, but it also sells consoles. They lost my purchase, and many others. Even worse they delayed more purchases. Instead of getting more early adopters more people will wait to buy the new console.
No one told Sony to switch to x86. They made their bed.

How did I abandon it?

I disagree, you entire notion is just loony talk.
Would you say driving is illegal? You need permission to do that and sometimes it is denied.
Homeschooling is often done because people want to keep their children uneducated. That should be prevented, it is simply child abuse.
Moral hazard? You act as though they give on iota of a fuck about the children's data. If there was a nice piece of candy in it for them they would hand it over.

So you think we should drown him to extract the water of life?
Seems kinda like a harsh way out for an 83 year old.
How?
We would only remove the CO2 not the Nitrogen. The partial pressure of Oxygen would not change much. CO2 is about 0.04% of the atmosphere.
Are you being intentionally dense?

CO seems to eliminate itself pretty well.
Actually shipping is very efficient. It can take far more fossil fuels to grow crops outside their ideal area vs transporting them.
I guess we could all only eat things grown in a 20 mile radius, but that would be pretty limiting.
If you eliminated all the CO2, the plants would die. I think you mean limit it to some given level.

Well past due? The thing is not that old. I can still play the old counterstrike, heck sometimes I do.
They might not be indie forever.
