Things do work out of the box, so those people will not be disappointed at all. They are just not to your preference. This is not breaking anything, only changing the default.
Then the software center would not work anymore. What the fuck do you think it uses to download and install packages?
The software center like most linux applications does things "The Right Way", with the GUI just calling command line apps, which use standard libraries and system tools all the way down.
Fascist? So you think comparing a change default GUI for package management is comparable to a political ideology that believes in the organic state, the merger of corporate power and law and in the philosophy of sacrificing any and all subjects for the glory of the state?
Does anyone really use synaptic instead of the software center for a GUI view? I normally stick to aptitude, but have used the software center some and am just not sure what losing synaptic would harm. Anything that is only found there is likely software no GUI user will really ever need.
My car does not have power windows, and probably on 50% of the trips it has no passenger. If I could get a nice cheap enclosed 3 wheel vehicle I would be interested.
I used this last week, meaning in 2011 not years ago when it was brand new.
I honestly considered putting a ppc linux on the machine. If the battery was not dead I would have. Too much work to fix it though, stupid Apple sealed laptop design.
CUV is a small SUV. Which is a poor form factor. I suggest neither engine has really been around long enough to say that. The LNJ being a Chinese import does not exactly fill me with confidence about the quality of that part.
There were very definitely PPC builds of Firefox 2 for mac available around that time. This was last week, not years ago.
It has a lot to say about the technical proficiency of the user, that unix OS has no real useful tools installed. Even locate was missing. Worse yet, there is no official way to get them, maybe the app store fixes that.
No they buy them for image, which is what this is. It is an image car. Most people don't drive more than a couple hundred miles a day. Mercedes buyers included.
It was the last PPC OSX, I am not sure what cat that is. Installing drivers for stuff is too windowsy for me.
If single menu bar and mouse focus conflict then single menu bar is a broken concept. Since it was ppc I could not get firefox, which meant no vimperator. A browser without vimperator is not a world I want to live in.
I can understand the attraction of OSX for those who are not good with computers, but it seems like a huge usability step backward for me from my linux machines. I do not hold any notions that what I want is what typical people want, I just don't want my options to go away.
Who has a couple feet of snow? I live in the shadow of a great lake, we get lake effect and it hits that level once or twice a year. I lived in Alaska and that was about the same. If you want a vehicle for snow, get a Subaru.
Because the Model S does not compete with either of those cars. It competes with the BMW 7 series low end or high end 5 series, it competes with Midrange Mercs and their ilk, not econoboxes.

Was synaptic around long enough for anyone to get nostalgic about it?
Synaptic uses libapt which is provided by apt-get. I was wrong.
He said, "What if they remove apt-get" so synaptic has got jack and shit to do with it.
I know aptitude uses apt, but I thought software center used aptitude which uses apt.
I could be wrong. I am now off to find out via google.
So uninstall Unity or just use what ever window manager you used before and apt-get synaptic.
Defaults are for noobs.

I thought those tools used aptitude, not apt directly. Am I wrong?

Sorry, I thought the LY7 and LNJ both started in 2004. So is the only engine the LY7 then?
I did not go looking at archive.org I looked at firefox.com and was told no modern firefox existed.
Niether of those is official.
I agree though frustration probably did warp my memory. It was a huge PITA and a more modern version of OSX would have helped a ton.

Yeah, I am actually farther north than some of Canada right now.
This is about cars though, ice skates and dog sleds have you guys covered.
Ford Ranger is all I have to say to that one. I hear the stick shift ones were fine though.

So make every laptop more expensive and make them lose tons of power when you charge it? Sounds like a great solution.
No they buy them for image, which is what this is. It is an image car. Most people don't drive more than a couple hundred miles a day. Mercedes buyers included.
You are complaining about engine problems and then you want to buy a Chevy?
Was that supposed to be a joke? Besides the Equinox is a damn SUV.

Bimmer you idiot, Beemers are motorcycles.
Unless you think the Model S is a motorocycle, which makes you an even bigger idiot.
