Why should Microsoft be required to offer Real's whoreware product, laden with spyware and annoying popups and notifications
As if Media Player weren't as annoying and slow. Not to mention the constant crashes. I said goodbye to media player ever since I got my xine working with wmv's.
I once wound up on a blog whose author blatantly copied Seinfeld's quotes from his (not so funny btw) book (the one about nothing). When I harassed him on the comments as 'Jerrry' he would only erase my comments. Those are the blogs not worth visitng.
But I also believe in trending. It's like fashion! Everybody's doing, everybody's talking about it, so the blogger also does and posts his impressions.
I wonder if google, who acquiredPyra Labs a while ago, is working on something to detect trends.
As if the "whistleblower" would send it right from his desktop. Of course it will be from a public IP addr.
On the other hand, he's dumb enough to work for SCO in the first place.
Currently, the least expensive method is a process known as steam reforming, in which natural gas reacts chemically with steam to produce hydrogen and carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas.
There should be more info on the web. Don't be a pessimist!;)
No, most spam originates from the spammers own mail server thru his own large bandwidth link.
There are several blacklist iniciatives (a href="http://mail-abuse.org/mail-abuse.org and ordb.org for instance) in use today, but that doesn't nearly solve the problem from the experience I had.
I'm sick of it to the point of *calling* the advertiser (if they provide a number) and giving them a piece of my mind.
I imagine a key system where the user requests a key from his ISP.
Based on what would the ISP decide to grant or deny request for a key? All I see from what you posted is some sort of IP address authentication, which is already implemented on sane ISP's.
The bulk of spam sent nowadays come from spammers own mail servers, not ISP's.
Here in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the universisty I went to set up a similar program, named Instituto Genesis (Genesis Institute). You can check their web site in portuguese for more info.
The success rate is high, with graduate companies making good profit. A coincidence (or not) I work at one of those companies, and we are doing very well. The initial support given by the program was a very nice push.

What about adoption? There are lots of orphan kids in Brazil who'd love to have a home in a 1st world country. Heck, they'd love to have any home.
this is the lamest thing I've ever heard of.
Sad. Really sad.
Postfix does that out of the box.
I long for the day those fines are so common they don't even make it to /.
Its a classic, I am surprised that many ppl. haven't heard of it.
It's not a classic in Brazil, they make us read brazilian stuff when in school, can you believe it? :-)
Anyway, I'm printing the pages rsidd mentioned. I'll fix that glitch in my culture in no time.
Eh? Haven't you heard of Three men in a boat.
No, I haven't. Do you recommend it? I haven't read anything in english since I re-read lord of the rings.
The title of the story "Three men and a box!" must be a parody with the Simpsons episode "Three men and a comic book". Kewl! ;-)
For buying spamvertised produtcs. Ha-ha!
It would be cool if, somehow, the blame for this "misfortune" fell on the spammers.

Or the fact that My SCSI drives come with 5 year warranty's
Actually, they are giving 5 years warranty on those drives.
I'm eager to see what will come up next with Google's recent entry in weblog world.
It's just what I thought when someone said " Blogs are like dreams; they're only interesting to the people they belong to".
>Not only could you search the Internet, but you could refine your searches just to other people's thoughts, etc.
Blogs are like dreams; they're only interesting to the people they belong to.
I beg to differ in part. If the same pattern appears on, say, a thousand blogs, that certainly has more importance than only for the posters.
... that kind of involvment with C and Unix, he's pretty dull.
Let us give Steve a hard time as well:
