I'll give a shit about Apple's high stock price when it splits or they start actually paying out dividends to their investors. Until then it's just a bubble you hope you exit before it pops.
Apple shares split 2 for 1 in June 2000 and again in Feb 2005. If you'd bought 1 share pre-Y2K, not only would you have 3 shares to sell and keep 1, but you'd have made a 3200% profit on them.
Really, guys? Somewhere in your 14 BILLION dollar profit--last quarter--you couldn't find the funds to hire a couple of Americans? Fuck you. Time to go Robin Hood on fucks like this.
They have hired many more than "a few Americans." Haven't you heard about the new gigantic campus they're building to house employees?
I am not complaining about anything. As I said above, I couldn't care less. I don't own shares of Apple at this time and even if I did, I doubt I would care. I am just telling you what I have heard. No need to shoot the messenger:)
Well, if you owned Apple shares you probably WOULD care. The stock is up over 6% today.
Relevance to the current topic? Absolutely none as this isn't a story on sales of anything. Secondly I do see one huge flaw in the articles view of marketshare. If you are going purely by sales that is also not a good comparison. Android users are far less likely to repeatedly upgrade their phone when it works for everything they need. 1 person 1 sale unless it breaks. Apple fans on the other hand are more likely to buy every model that comes out. So 1 person, 4 sales still only 1 phone actually being used, 3 rotting in a drawer somewhere.
Nothing but pure speculation on your part, pulled from the dark realms of your arse, no doubt.
Android is certainly the bargain option. Apple makes more money than Microsoft in the PC market, so you could say they are "winning". But that would neglect the fact that Microsoft has over 90% market share.
And that, although Apple had as much as 14% market share in the past, a couple bad decisions and they were nearly gone. Microsoft has made hundreds of bad decisions, and yet they survive no problem.
Actually, in the PC market Microsoft has a 0% share. They do not sell PCs, they sell the operating system.
Very subtle, adding the bit about Bush about this judge. As if it's relevant. Nobody ever points out that democrat-appointed judges blocked the repeal of slavery for decades... And that's equally relevant to today's democrats as this decision reflects on republicans.
I respectfully disagree. The Republican party of the Bush era is still quite similar to the Republican party of today. However, the Democratic party of the 19th century is similar to the Democratic party of today in name only. If you really want to go back in time, the two parties were once one - the Democratic-Republican party.
Well, if you own an application that is that popular you'd be screwing yourself over if you ever did that.
But betrayal by a trusted source is actually the worse kind of attack, since you never see it coming. I don't even know if Apple's app store would be able to help you there... Do they review every patch you make to the application or just the first submission?
Each patch. Though my experience is that the first submission takes a lot longer than updates.
No, the point is that the iPod didn't reinvent the market, they took what Creative had done, ripped it off and made it slightly smaller with a wheel on the front. That's not reinvention, that's stealing somebody elses work and trying to claim ownership of it. Which is why Apple got its ass handed to it when they got sued.
Put down your anti-Apple crack pipe. The iPod reinvented the market because it came with iTunes - an integrated environment for content. Also, if Apple had "its ass handed to it when the got sued" why are they still crushing everyone in sales?
Sorry, I mistyped. I meant, "If fragmentation is good for the market (as the GP claimed), then why are fandroids screaming that the market is NOT fragmented?"
Most sane republicans would prefer 4 more year of Obama,
No, sane person would prefer 4 more years of Obama to any of the candidates in the field (even Dennis Kucinich is likely to be a better choice than 4 more years of Obama).
Freudian slip of a comma changed the meaning of your statement to the reverse of what you have in parens.
By the same notion, we could state that adults with imaginary friends who are combative because they want others to care about their imaginary friends or care why they think that there are no imaginary friends are actually deeply narcissistic.
While I agree with the first part of your sentiment, I'd say that pointing out that someone's imaginary friends are, um, IMAGINARY, is not narcissistic, though it could be labeled as "captain obvious."
Those religions were selected for by evolutionary pressure. That's why they're still around.
You're absolutely right. In this case, the evolutionary pressure was on converting as many people as possible (survival of the fittest) by shunning, insulting, and killing non-believers.
I am running it under 10.6 at this very moment. Now, end of story.
Anecdote == illustration of a point
However, drawing conclusions from an anecdote is the logical fallacy of hasty generalization, which was my original point.
My brother, sister-in-law, and 2 nephews are each on their 4th iPhone. That's 12 iPhones sitting in a drawer.
His statement has resonates true to me... just saying...
Anecdote != data.
Woo, SuperKendall the Apple Zealot strikes again.

10.7 gives it to you free. 10.6 does not.
I downloaded it for free on 10.6. End of story.
Free developer accounts don't give you access to download it. You need at least one paid membership.
Stop lying! I downloaded with my free developer account.
and access to infinitely better information than you.
This strikes me as a bit of hyperbole. Do the people at Apple truly know all the information in the universe?
Of course! The address is 1 Infinite Loop.

Perhaps not, but I answered your specific question of "How does that make it a crime?"
How does that make it a crime all of a sudden?
Trespass at the very least, probably defacing property. Possibly, illegal access to a computer device.
formerly, as many of them that will use iBooks creator.
Fixed that for you.

Agreed. And for a product line that has so few models, I am amazed at the level of incompatibility that exists on the iOS line of products.
Dream on! The apps I write run great on all iOS products (that came out in the last four years).
Anyways, fragmentation is good for the market.
Then why are all the fandroids screaming that the market is fragmented?

Yet that doesn't stop the rightwing nutjobs from shouting lies to the contrary. Please don't confuse them with facts.

Quit using logic. That is not fair.
