    The constitution grants the right to a jury in civil trials, except when the amount is under $20(note this was a lot more back then, now noone sues for less than $20 anyway).

    Contract laws are left to the states, so there technically is no such thing as US contract law. Covering up a crime makes you an accomplice in the crime, which is illegal. In most, if not all, states, a contract is void if it requires a party to commit a crime. Thus you can't get in trouble for reporting a crime. Many states have provisions that specifically exempt you from contractual obligations if you report a crime as well.

    Saruman only is half way responsible for the war, and invades the shire!

    Not really, he is attacking Rohan, but the main invasion is in Gondor, and the war would have happened without Saruman. I don't see how Saruman is as responsible for the war as Sauron is.

    The population is irrelevant. The more people you have the more people will volunteer to count votes.

    Welfare is essentially vote buying with the governments money. The candidate gets votes because he promises certain people money

    Not that I'm against deregulating telcos, but the difference here is that with telcos you have one choice, the one who's lines go through your land. With VoIP you can choose any VoIP provider regardless of where you live.

    In my previous post I forgot to mention arms at the time referred to handheld weapons. Cannons and such were not included nor would nuclear weapons.

    What an interesting assertion. Now please provide evidence to support it.

    All the other amendments in the bill of rights refer to the rights of individuals not of the military. Looking at the second amendment in context makes his assertion obvious.

    No they aren't. Both the masses and the momentums add up but not the velocity. The effective velocity is essentially a weighted average of the velocities. The momentum is the same in both cases, but the mass and velocity is different. Your last paragraph seems to imply that your speed instantly doubles when you tailgate someone, or are tailgated by someone.

    Bush is pretty much an example of the unified Republican body, except most Repugs I know are relatively decent human beings and I'm not at all sure I think the same thing of that guy.

    Never attribute to malice what you can attribute to stupidity. It seems to me like Cheney is the evil one, and Bush is just a puppet.

    In the US, the first amendment uses the words "freedom of speech", but in no way defines speech, and in the same sentence limits the right of assembly with the term "peaceably".That means you can riot as long as you don't beat up people or something like that.

    Contract laws in the US depend on what state you are in. In most states they are invalid according to both the letter and spirit of the law, however judges have upheld them.

    Centralization of power tends to lead to corruption. Those who administer the elections can corrupt the vote, either by barring voters(as in the case of Florida), adding fake voters to the list(dead people and dogs have both been known to vote), or by miscounting the votes.

    In most elections the winner would win without almost any single state. This means that corruption in a state election office, while not excusable, does not ruin the democratic process. On the other hand corruption in the federal government would be a problem if federal elections were held federally. Even an extremely unpopular incumbent would win the election, as federal departments are headed by his appointees.
