While I'm not saying that spam is good by any means, the argument of "we don't like you so ICANN should pull your accreditation" is a fairly stupid one.
Now, if they're involved in something illegal - not annoying/immoral - then I'd like to see that argument made; however, the argument KnujOn currently makes is "we don't agree with how you're running your business, so we think you should be put out of business."
Alright, I'm willing to live with bandwidth caps as long as there are some tiers that are uncapped. It's the forced cap on all tiers - especially the high bandwidth ones - that really get my head scratching.
Of course this is coming from a guy who has am uncapped 15/1 ADSL2+ line.
The problem is the wording. Essentially, the EULA prohibits you from doing any packet sniffing - on your own network - without CNN's express written consent.
If you downloaded the "Death Magnetic" album for Xbox and PS3, those ten songs will play in their entirety in the full game mode. PS2 and Wii versions (coming in the Spring, most likely in early May) will include "Broken Beat & Scarred," "Cyanide" and "My Apocalypse" since they are not compatible with the Death Magnetic downloadable content.
About fucking time I get to do something else with guitar Hero on the Wii besides frustratingly pull my hair out on One.
Since you've got state-run everything, force an ungodly amount of unreasonable requests on these foreign companies, like demanding $1 Million per user from your country (or whatever worthless paper currency your country has issued).
Report to your citizens - the people you "cannot afford to radicalize" - that they (the social networks) are being unfair and stealing taxpayer money, the main cause of child rape, or some other such bullshit. Twist, lie, and contort until it fits within your cultures limits of reason.
Since the companies cannot comply with your requests, they have to block access from your country. Now, since you've gone and made them the enemy in the eyes of the people, you can make laws banning their use, blocking access to their content on a government filter, or other such nonsense. You win, because you can then limit the people to use a government sponsored social site (ie, more monitoring of radicalization), and the true radicals will be forced to use technology that will make them stand out.
It's a lose-lose situation, the perfect scenario for any overly authoritarian government.
I wish NASA would do stuff like this more often. I know that they're tasked with doing important scientific work, but I'd love to see more videos of things like "how the Internet works on ISS" and things of that nature, as I think it would help the non-scientific public get behind this type of work.
I once sent DSS a resume containing nothing but "penispenispenis" in all of the sections, and got a reply that I should come down and take their employment test.
I'm not quite sure why they see microblogs failing. They might not work as a business model for a large enterprise, but as a method of generating extra personal revenue, they get the job done.
I think what this proves is that the terms democrat, republican, liberal, conservative, etc... are all just labels that are supposed to define one rigid way of life.
Labels are a really fucking stupid because most people cannot be defined by one word, but rather as an amalgamation of opinions, each one differing slightly as situations change and evolve.
Calling someone a liberal or a conservative simplifies things for us - to determine who we would vote for - but also simplifies that person to a single statement.
Quite frankly, I view terms like that as on par with nigger, spic, and wop - words that simplify people to a social stereotype.
NY hardly a red state? What in the fuck are you talking about?
Outside of Albany and New York City, New York is VERY red.

That, I believe, is pretty fucking stupid.

It's all about influence. The more influence you can inject into a government, the more you'll see laws that favor your business model.
Considering how fucking stupid most kids are, I'm not seeing a huge problem with that.
Debug faster or you'll be gettin' the whip, m'boy!
and said "Well ... ok then."
You know, I'd mod you funny ... but there's the nagging thought in the back of my mind that you're serious.
'cause SSD's don't cost $300-$500 more than their spindle counterparts, yep yep.
I'll be sure to do that, and replace them every 5 years when they run out of write operations.
Because I like to fuck with the mods every once in a while and see if I get rated -5 Troll or +5 Funny.
Every one in a while I'll get rated -5 Overrated, and that makes my day 3.
20.
It scores a fucking 20.
So, that credit? Yeah, it's not so good around these parts.
Yes another browser I won't be using. thanks for keeping me posted, Slashdot!

Make the Social Sites the enemies.

So ... the government's job is to squash individual freedom for the sake of a country?
Oh god, how I love spin.
You know, it's funny, maybe 5 or 6 years ago it would've been:
Windows 2000 = lean
Windows XP = bloated

due to more-and-more people streaming their radio off the net or off their cellphones, instead of satellite.
Funny, I thought it was because they have billions in payments due this year.

That would be one slow fucking computer.
Well that basically covers everything then. Not much need for user comments on this one. Next story, please.
