Ad network and analytics firm Chitika claims it has seen no significant increase in iOS 6 adoption in the U.S. and Canada. A company analyst believes the MoPub data (which was international, rather than domestic) we wrote about earlier today was affected by the recent launch of the iPhone 5 in China, rather than the release of Google Maps.
This past weekend, Apple issued a press release bragging that it had sold more than two million iPhone 5 units in China over the first three days of availability.
no... just wanting to know there's some good old fashioned thought/planning other than throwing stuff into github. It's not an insult, I was just intrigued by the wanting to make a business out of it, but not any more details other than the sample of code. Knowing slashdot, you'd either be loved/hated for different reasons... and as someone who sees through that, I just wanted to make my own mind up.
get an iSCSI device:
http://www.promise.com/product/product_detail_eng.asp?segment=undefined&product_id=226
The Promise VessRAID series is currently available through distribution. Pricing starts at $1,899 for an 8 bay system and ranges to $3,099 for a 16 bay system. A fully populated 16 bay subsystem costs less than 26 cents per gigabyte, using enterprise-class 7200 RPM 2TB hard disk drives.
so basically, $2.6k for a unit @CDW, 16*$300 for 2TB hard drives (newegg)
total $5k for 32TB raw.

Harry,
I've updated this issue over at Get Satisfaction[1], but let me just summarize what exactly was going wrong: you were inadvertently forwarding your emails not to your secret pastebud address, but to the address set as the from address for these emails, which was noreply@pastebud.com.
This happened to other folks too; instead of sending email to secret-random-string@pastebud.com, they were sending to noreply@pastebud.com. And everyone who was doing this ended up sharing the same clipboard.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that we've fixed it, and the changed will be live by the morning. You can find more details about the issue here[1].
Thanks again for bringing this to our attention, and let me know if there's anything else you need clarification on.
So i've been calling the phone company the last year, on a regular basis - the town nearest me 8 miles aways can get DSL.
I know i'm probably too far away, but what the hell. Today i heard a different one from the usual "call back in 3 months". I heard "oh the equipment is in place, but it's your electricity company that has to upgrade their equipment because we share the same poles with them and they need filters to stop the interference".
So i call the electricity company, and they don't know what these filters are. So now i'm stucking waiting for the electric company to upgrade some "equipment" that may or may not exist!
the sign at Lowes says that if you provide your phone number when paying with cash or check, they are able to look up the receipt and allow you to return items with the looked up by phone number receipt rather than you digging out the receipt.
Honestly, even a low-usage customer would be fine.
my 26400 BPS dialup connection that gets dropped after 4 hours, and paying $10 per month for, on top of the $26.81 each month for the phone line that i never use, save for the dialup and calling 911.
There must be a lawsuit for geographical discrimination for people who can't get DSL - i'm 8 miles from a city.
so why not link to the coral cache (The Coral Content Distribution Network), rather than the site directly? least that way one isn't blowing up someone's site, and the readers are always free to go to the original site if they need?
why not use some of the moderators to moderate a pending story, and one it receives a certain score, or number of approvals (vote yes/no?) then it's either approved or denied.
the editors can still edit for content. Optionially provide some feedback from the moderators. Then moderate the moderators who do a "proper" job and no screw around.
Have a look at Eventum http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/other/eventum/featu res.html/. It's made by MySQL and can be used for support ticketing, software development. I use it in my small IT department for myself and the other tech/admin for support ticketing and it works well. I've used keystone quite a bit in the past, and much prefer this!
From the page: Eventum is a user-friendly and flexible issue tracking system that can be used by a support department to track incoming technical support requests, or by a software development team to quickly organize tasks and bugs. Eventum is used by the MySQL AB Technical Support team, and has allowed us to dramatically improve our response times.
Try your state Public Defender's Office IT department. Having worked in one, we got involved in some computer forensics and analysis of machines belonging to the clients. They might be able to offer a place doing this type of work.
when you get the logon-screen-for-dummies press ctrl+alt+delete twice and then you get the proper logon screen. You can type the username administrator in there. Unless you've set a password, it might be blank, or the account might be locked.. but you can certainly logon as administrator!
have you tried spamassassin?

you're trying to make a business out of it, but don't have a website... and you're still posting this to slashdot??
If gram-mar (grandma?) were there, she could too!
not gonna bore you with features here, suffice to say, it's a great tool :-)

arrg, my quick math, i mean
total a little over $7k for 32TB (or it's cheaper if you *only* get 16*1TB drives..)

but what tax? presumably they're not in a state at the time, so which state would collect the tax?
there's the stanadlone App, or the web-based version - the numbers are one-time use, and can be used anywhere - on or off the net.
why is the rest of the world not keeping up?
