So say we find life, what are we going to do then? How (and what) are we going to communicate to these Europans? I seriously hope that we have a fool-proof plan to get back information to Erath. I can't help but remember "Space Odyssey"!
What I don't get from all theses articles/posts about India-stealing-jobs-from-US, is why they use the word stealing. All India is doing is improving its economy. India is not stealing any jobs, and the reason why US is outsourcing to India is simply because its cheaper. That's India's "strength":people and lots of it. So what are Indian companies supposed to say when US companies ask them for outsourcing: Hey we can't take your jobs. We are really worreid about your economy but not ours.
Umm yeah sure! they are just anti-american, whats the harm in that! And yeah they are just extremists, no harm in that.
No harm in blowing up un-Islamic artifacts, no harm in destroying their own country, no harm in making their women not study/go out in public/wear certain clothes.....I could go on and on.
Dr Kanazawa suggests "a single psychological mechanism" is responsible for this: the competitive edge among young men to fight for glory and gain the attention of women.
That craving drives the all-important male hormone, testosterone..
Don't you think that after fighting for the attention of women, the "scientist" would go ahead and concentrate on other stuff: his scientific career? You know with one thing out of the way, even lesser mortals like us pay attention to other issues.
Just a thought. I wonder what happens to women scientists when they get married!
People change. You gotta believe in people. Give them a second chance to prove themselves. Think "Catch me if you can" (the movie)
The reformed guy needs to prove himself. But if no one hires him, if no one trusts him enough to employ him, maybe he gets back to breaking the law.

I wonder how many hours does an employee really work in a 9-5 work shift? To name some things that can't be categorised under "work": surfing the net(reading/. for example), reading mail, lunch hours.
So instead the employee should be given a free reign to decide when he wants to work. IMO, flexible hours lead to better productivity as it gives the employee the chance to choose a work schedule that suits him the best.
I'm a geek and proud to be called one. I am a CS grad student and yeah I also switched my career to CS! Like a girl already said this, I am glad I learnt how computers work(compared to getting a job in IT though that wont be such a bad option;) ) On a side note, my bf is in CS too and I enjoy working on projects with him.
And as for the statement that
Girls do not like doing anything that involves concentrating on one single thing for long periods,
all I can say is oh my gawd such total BS. No one really belives that right? I did my undergrad in India in an all-women school and we used to compare ourselves with guys from other schools in our university and you know what we always came on top.
