3d Studio Max, Combustion 2, Photoshop (I can't stand Gimp, I'm sorry), Illustrator (still better than the KDE version IMHO) and Premiere. If these apps were on Linux (all of them, not just some) I'd switch in a heartbeat. Until then, my only option is XP Pro.
As someone working in the film industry, I can see that you obviously don't. Artists have very strong influence on what systems / software get used and what doesn't. Specifically because it is the artist(s) themselves that have to use the systems to be creative on.

I mean this country was first settled by people soo repressive in their ideals that they were kicked out of every other country on the known planet (at that time). Hence the religious right wing of today.
