The vast majority of corn is INDUSTRIAL and completely not edible by humans. It's really heavily subsidized not for humans... for rural welfare and industrial welfare (ethanol being the extreme case.) It's another fine mess NIXON brought us by screwing up our whole farming system. High fructose corn syrup, HMOs... thank Nixon.
Our current global capitalistic economic system will always promote and result in over population and defend it's unlimited growth. Physics (reality) will dictate the ultimate limitations of how much we plague the planet's ecosystem until a predator emerges...(engineered?)
Seriously, people have to drop their religion and consider changes to the economic system with a rigid control scheme because the near global anarchy we have today suits the unrestrained capitalistic economic system we have. I don't see people capable of instituting anything regulated enough for long periods of time unless we evolve away from greed etc. It doesn't have to go communist; even minor tweaks like regulating CO2 are not going well. The fanatic true believers are imagining ways to profit from mass death; a marketplace that deals in death beyond what we presently have already.
Our canines are a joke. We have lots of old junk DNA in our systems we no longer need. The vision argument is false. FYI, I'm a meat eater but I'm not going to rationalize lies for my bad habits. Our digestive systems are the same as primates. They are not carnivores; neither are we. We CAN eat some meat; we are not herbivores. The primary "meat" we are made to eat are BUGS! Go ask a biologist or a specialist in digestive systems or the bacteria system; I have. Our digestive system and support systems are essentially completely different from a carnivore! QED. FYI, carnivores hardly eat anything but flesh; just because we can eat some doesn't make us the same... anymore than they are herbivores because sometimes you see your dog eat some grass. Furthermore, don't give me that crap about needing the meat protein - animals don't make them, it all comes from the plants and gets collected in the animal which "extracted" them. (except for a little bit which comes from a few sources, one if I recall was fungi? anyhow, essentially living filthy let you eat enough of that. so it's an issue for vegans to watch today.)
YES! How many generations now has this been a tired theme of fiction? Not just sci-fi... it's human nature; told by lies (fiction/art) to raise truths to consciousness. In modern times, we have an educated elite class of people instead of some random old wise man or mystical being. It's EASIER to relate and yet we are still just apes; because consciousness is fleeting and we just go back to autopilot with the next distraction. sad.
The REAL problem is psychology. Some idiot like Hitler (he wasn't taken seriously at first) can team up with a psychology nerd (Goebbels) and today event less talent is required; only money to apply the always improving science of training human animals. As a student in psychology, I think we've past the ability to self govern. A ruling elite can keep ahead of the curve if they properly manage their sheep... only a minority will realize they are being fleeced; the challenge is keeping those inline to prevent the herd from being spooked. Oh and have plenty of sheep dogs (kind of like wolves in sheep's clothing...to mix in more metaphors...)
Take Trump, he got the cows to leave the farmer who sacrificed a few and spooked them to run over to the butcher's feed lot. Many will be happy right up to the point where their head is strapped in and they realize the bolt gun is next... very few want to get out of line after seeing what happens at the end of it (this is for real how it goes BTW.)
Is anybody else sick of "the real world" and how most the time people using it are claiming their narrow perspective somehow has the definitive insight to the reality the masses do not? Sure, that is sometimes the case, especially with scientists and the educated because they actually have insight the ignorant masses do not.
POLITICS is an imaginary thing existing in human minds. It manifests into real world problems; but it is not real on the same level of the laws of physics; it's just emergent behavior. Like other animals; and like them, instinctive urges controls most of it.
The UN is a combination of reasoned highly educated thinking and politics. Quite often the political "realities" are better known and they try despite those; because one is real and the other is human social behavior.
The world could solve many problems extremely quickly if we were not a bunch of apes limited by our primitive nature; which we arrogantly and ironically dispel to protect our fragile egos.
I think he has been acting like somebody going towards a major mid-life burn out from working too hard with too much stress... He likely copes with his problems with more work / obsessing and now he is in a situation where he's pushed himself too far for too long and he is coping with it by pushing himself more. He is also older and has been doing the stuff for many years to himself.
Drugs may become a part of that downward spiral but they do not need to be before he ends up needing a vacation in a padded room... A nervous breakdown or some other similar mental condition looks to be around the corner. He might end up more like Howard Hues, if he is lucky or he could end up overdosing... His family doesn't seem to be curbing him yet; it could turn around. All these things are not permanent (except death) and nobody is super human. Most of us wouldn't cope like him by working like he is; some would curb our activities or develop other bad coping mechanisms like alcoholism or spousal abuse..
This is just a first step. They will need to determine how long changes take for adaptation and then techniques to modify the font over time so you can't ever learn it.
I read a study a while ago on Dyslexic Fonts and they found that they do help over unknown fonts but the well known fonts like Helvetica did best because they are heavily trained which caused it to beat the special fonts. This study could impact future ones because additional factors could be involved that weren't previously considered.
In a job interview question, ones like this are likely multiple choice so you just answer YES. If you over think it, then it gets complicated but such an answer can say plenty about you beyond just your honesty; it can show how honest or realistic you are about yourself and your limitations as well. How you justify something after the fact when it might actually matter; hints about how you shift blame, take responsibility, etc.
Remember the big towers associated with nuclear plants??? Those are cooling towers for all the excess heat given off. Most are near bodies of water or rivers for cheap cooling sources. Just think about it-- the whole thing works from STEAM and you do not extract all that heat energy.
It doesn't even come close--- you don' need cooling towers or big sources of water... or any water source at all for a wind generator! water being the cheapest cooling option they would use water if it produced serious amounts of heat.
Academic games like this don't belong in the news.
Part of the INTERVIEW process is to test the candidate. The content of the actual question is not relevant. Would you steal a pencil from work? If you say never, you area a lying ass kisser who can not be trusted. No job for you.
Ask something irrelevant and perhaps embarrassing and it doens't matter if it is true or not if you act like a sniffling man baby. Aside from being caught in lies about things that are simply not worth lying about. Stop boofing your own head!
Reasonable grounds to drop him exist already; aside from the huge coverup games and smokescreen alone make somebody look so bad as to now allow it simply on the grounds it disrespects the whole process and the nation... and for what? If he was any good they have the time for an honest process but that isn't how it even began because they have real problems they are trying to avoid. Much more is being gotten away with in this disgrace.
If the man had any respect for the nation he would resign the nomination like so many patriots before him who weren't even responsible but as heads of departments symbolically took the blame and resign. If the cause matters more than himself, he'd bail out before it became too late and risk a like minded person getting the job.
Finally, innocent until proven guilty is not logical and is ONLY for the legal process. It's a precept. It has NOTHING to do with job interviews or politics! The whole basis for term limits is that politicians are guilty until proven innocent; it's all about where you want the error bias to exist. Attack ads WORK because of this as well; it tends to make people not vote but that means it's still working.
Nobody gives raises or promotions. What do YOU get from telling them? They thank you and give you more work (if you don't milk them for months.) Do you get a promotion? A pay raise? No. They would give you more work; eventually you would automate and replace multiple jobs until you were busy or writing TPS reports all day for the people under you.
I just gave myself more work needing to be done they couldn't believe the amount of work I was getting done and then it became a political problem as I expanded my job outside what they wanted... and into the territory of other people. If you do this, you make enemies from everybody who fears you will automate or at least change the way they have done their job for years. Doesn't help that I got a shirt saying something along the lines "don't anger me or I'll replace you with a shell script" but it was the elephant in the room.
You must not know that North Korea exists today? You must not know that Germany was probably the most educated, most literate DEMOCRACY and known for being practical to the point of being "cold" before they descended quickly into extreme despotism and you think my comment is silly? You must not live in the USA, outside a big liberal city either. You must not live in a big liberal city either or you'd get plenty of ideas from the SJW.
Seriously? an example? ok how about what should be obvious:
Nude photos of yourself. your a teenager. include others too. Hell, even adults exchange such things so this is not insanity. Later, you are an adult and the mere possession of such photos is a crime. We have teens who have been charged with crimes sending out photos of themselves! registered sex offenders...
Or what I just said, I distinctly remember people being charged with extra crimes and given harsher punishments simply because The Anarchists Cookbook was found on their computer. There are variations out there where it probably wasn't a crime by itself but lumped in... or used to smear somebody (which can do damage in a jury setting or with press coverage etc.) Thought crime BS... materials get your charges raised by implied thoughts in your head..
Get off the nuclear obsession! How can there be so many unpaid trolls for nuclear power?? It is not the solution to all our problems! It is a SIDE SHOW that you debate along with all the other issues but in the USA, the moron masses are just now starting to slightly admit global warming exists and have moved on to the next phase in the P.R. playbook in saying "it's not our fault." It doesn't even make much sense in this context but they adapted it from the playbook; liability doesn't matter with physics/reality.
The NEXT phase in the P.R. handbook is "we're powerless to change it, so why bother?" and "It's too late to do anything." The cope-with depression phase, where they get you to give up; maybe even finally take the blame, maybe even take the blame for stalling until it is too late... but you can't change the past and the way things are so just let them continue and do nothing... don't even really punish them because it's not going to fix anything.
These are the REAL big problems. You can add nuclear into the debate when people are actually making efforts to prevent and solve the problems but instead these side shows serve to fragment, confuse their opposition, and create doubts.
We do not need to waste investment in OLD nuclear power tech. Yes, I'm including these new uranium reactor designs that are really still just revisions of the old. If there were ACTUALLY new ideas to use, then build some prototypes already! That's not working... know why? Because nothing comes out profitable without government losing money on it! INCLUDING existing plants! Obviously, new is expensive but they can't say it'll come down in price enough to jump onboard in any meaningful way!
Solar and Wind was always known it WOULD come down in price; it's being backed without hardly any subsidies now (at least nothing compared to the others.) Battery tech we know will come down too.... By the time you build a new plant -- which takes a decade-- grid batteries will easily work to scale at a lower price (meaning one could begin doing that; I'm not saying that we will have everything in place in a decade.) Maybe fusion is cracked in 5 years... but you'd already begun building 10 nuclear plants that are halfway built... at $1billion each... assuming you got them going on schedule... the 2 Obama started and funded should be done today. Neither made it. hello? reality. yeah if pigs could fly and popular opinion and politics were ideal... maybe they could be done in 1 year for $50 in your alternative reality...
Think tanks are ideologically based with an agenda by the owners. You have to not fall for the intended plan to get people equating them with legitimate institutions.
Sure professors and universities seem to have a bias; but they do not have a ruling elite (usually setup by 1 person) that dictates from above. They may have hiring and tenure committees with biases but it's free to run in other directions and not completely beholden to a few founders/owners and their later corporate sponsors. The real conspiracies ARE the think tanks, not the universities and laboratories.
These think tanks primarily sprung out or grew from the Nixon era to give corporations more power over messaging. Their whole purpose is to promote intellectual whores or the occasional true believer and the rare intellectually honest ideologically aligned employee. It's not as noble as a lawyer (which for many is reaching too far already.)
Smoking is GOOD for you!! The think tanks said so! You think they gave up after losing on smoking?! They won for 30 years. It only expanded. Who has the time to take apart well funded fake science / studies anymore? Obviously, if there are any hints of truth they'll exploit it to the hilt and maybe do a little good by accident.
Ignorant or clever sexist?? Just because you haven't seen it doesn't make it a thing; even if you lived in an actually equal unbiased society to begin with!
Religion is just a belief. it's all in your head. Race is almost entirely political with little basis in actual genetic science. (What genes constitute race? Once you figure that one out I bet you'll have one hell of a time aligning that with the races people define largely by culture.) Color is even more childish than race but at least it has a simple genetic.... oh wait, you can get tint your skin color...
SEX is real. The genetic difference between a close primate of the same gender is nearly a rounding error apart as the two genetic difference between the sexes. Aside from glaringly obvious physical differences that far exceed race or religion. The two are not the same, there are many differences still undiscovered and plenty of BS differences.
1000s of years of tradition and religion and culture add to the differences of the sexes. Cultural stuff is slow and biases everything.
Corporations are government defined institutions; they do not exist outside government. Sure they run on their own and the government is quite hands-off but don't mistake them as some kind of entity that always existed simply because they are as old as the US civil war (in their present form.)
Eventually, over time after a transition, it'll tend to reflect the society people seem to think we already have. (again simply because they seem to see it doesn't mean we are there yet... Racism didn't die because a black man became president... but people were saying that. remember?)
Your cow fart regulation is messing with my pro-cow fart deregulation! You must lose your rights! While at the same time, my coal regulations are legit and I want you to stop your pollution blowing into my state!
FCC took away it's own power but wants to impose more power than it ever had to take away other's powers. That is an extra layer of corruption!
Republicans only preach, they do not actually stand for any of it when their Fascist beliefs come into play. Money is god. period. Hypocrisy is only this thing they can use to attack the opposition with; money(god) trumps all. pun intended. Like the comic books, the heroes must take the difficult self-constrained path while the villains mock them; it should be cliche when they frequently struggle with "great responsibility." I guess it's not pushed strongly enough because the morality portrayed is not being noticed in the real world... Money is the ultimate super power... (or ring of power.)
This FALSE LOGIC gets pushed for any business large enough to exist outside a state. If you want to sell CARS in CA you follow their laws; it is not their problem if your business has troubles with that and bitches... unless the nation becomes too fascist and the bitching turns into bigger government...
Net Neutrality is all about THE LAST MILE. You can't get more local than that!
These are not interstate tariffs; this is a connection service; like the local power, phone, trash, or delivery companies!
Yes, ALL their propaganda applies to any multi-state business. They won't touch things they like; such as Texas lowering the quality of school textbooks nationwide...
The FBI comes in and they image everything you've got that they find.
You might be safe now but in the future legitimate things you have might become crimes. You don't know what that might be; even if you do, like parent said, your old backups get lost or the old computer in the basement you didn't recycle or give away because you've not wiped it clean and put that off...
Think about something innocent not this guy's stuff-- and a decade from now the mere possession or mention of such things is a crime. You are not charged with a crime back in time (not allowed) but instead are charged for currently having such materials.
This could be the Anarchist's Handbook you got online in the 90s because everybody was making a fuss about the silly thing. Then after 9/11 they find that in your stuff and get you as a terrorist!
Likely he had an offer but his definition of a solid offer and the SEC's legal definition of are two different things (this is why you run things past lawyers 1st.) I heard some rumor he was working too much and was thinking of giving up the chair anyway. What has to be pissing him off is the appointment of outsiders to the board; which makes one think that there are other forces at play. Aside from him strongly feeling he did no wrong since he thought he had a legit offer.
He should have gone private while he had a the chance. Moving forward on that would have turned the offer from laymen terms into legal terms while having the Saudi's with a controlling stake in the company-- that may have been safer than what happens next.
Common sense is all but dead in American governments and whatever idiot excuses are floated will have half the voters strongly supporting it and spend years resenting if the "other side" forces them to act sensibly.
Especially if a republican victory could be over turned; they don't care about anything they profess to anymore it's 100% pure tribal bullshit. I'm not saying the other side is perfect; sadly, I have to always point that out because Americans also have an inability to hold complex thoughts.
You can fight over whatever side issues as a distraction. If it messes with the ruling elite (the status quo) then real problems happen for all who dare.
Swimming down stream to the left or the right but they are lucky to not drown when swimming upstream (left or right doesn't matter much in that direction either.)
The culture / environment is designed to get you appeased with smaller compromised successes instead of drowning and losing it all to gain a little progress upstream. All while your supporters are clueless and bitching no matter what you do... your base will go with the sell out who produces numerous tiny nothings.
I wrote OUR land multiple times; it's our decision and no matter how the FCC tries to extend it's communications management outside it's domain, ultimately it's boundaries will fall short of the local domain over public land management rights. Local governments can invent an infinite number of ways to leverage their power.
"Property rights" aka LAW is completely a government thing. It's what governments exist for; it is part of being civilized and we all pay a price to be civilized; some resent it more than others... usually when ever you do something uncivilized and get corrected... it is the government going too far; just about everybody stepping out of line thinks that. Every selfish ignorant git wants or expects it all for free, taking for granted the ONLY reason you have land/house/property is because of government.
We're fleas fighting over their spot on the back of the dog. Organized, we're just a colony claiming ownership of our dog.

Religion is just a belief. it's all in your head. Race is almost entirely political with little basis in actual genetic science. (What genes constitute race? Once you figure that one out I bet you'll have one hell of a time aligning that with the races people define largely by culture.) Color is even more childish than race but at least it has a simple genetic .... oh wait, you can get tint your skin color...
Think.
Sorry, couldn't help but join in. Even though it seems there are more payed trolls posting on Trump side... robots?
