Well, this is what happens when a company of IT geeks grows and takes on managers and sales drones who haven't a clue of what een sql query is...
It's ants vs grasshoppers all over again...
management and sales are mostly living of the labour of the worker-drone programmers etc...
will they sue when you start on your own?
Sure they will, because in the first place, their entire development team (and by that their main income) just took off, and secondly they are doing the same as before, but again for themselfs...
My advice... If you're stuck with a non-compete clause, this mostly is for a year or so...
So make sure you only start selling your product AFTER this period. Also, don't start a company yet, just do nothing that gets you on their radar... But work in "secret"...
The hacker gets off free??? The judge is sentenced based on illegal evidence. Cops should try that, bringing on evidence obtained while breaking and entering...
Is it wise to hand over people to countries who think that the Geneva convention doesn't apply to them, where you can be thrown in jail without a trail for however long they see fit, where you might get tortured,...
I mean my God, America pretends to be the humain country in the conflict with Irak, yet they had lawyers throw out the Geneva Convention on the basis of "Hey if they don't stick to it, why should we?"
You shouldn't sent people there, for no reason whatsoever...
Inocent until proven guilty my foot.
Searching and detaining people just because they look suspicous ???
I better not take the train on a bad hairday then...
Wtf up with that.
If they hassle u like that, almost wish you DID blow up something...
The BBC is getting pretty good at this game.
First they accuse the prime minister of "Killing" Kelly (Oh my god, they killed Kelly:) (don't get me wrong, I also think Blair twisted the story to sooth his needs), and now that that's sorted out, they take on the OS community.
I wonder who, or what's next?
Claiming that SCO doesn't DDOS itself:D
Where's the loss in quality controll, when on the one hand you have OS developpers who want their software to be as good as possible, and when you report a problem, will try to help you asap. On the other hand you've got companies selling propreity software, who, wen you report a problem make you wait about a year for their next hotfix or service pack
In my opinion, the end-user is the final quality-control, and if you don't put enough effort in trying to solve this user's problems, then the end-user WILL be throwing away your software. So you better get your act together.
Makes you wonder how long it will take Redmond to catch on...
SCO is making a LOT and I mean a LOT of fuss without showing any real proof it seems. Because, in my opinion, if they had REAL proof, they'd probably post it on their website, heck they might even distribute it on paper. I'm asking myself, when will the FSF finally countersue SCO for slander? If it was SCO vs Microsoft, SCO would be burried in lawsuits until the year 2500 (in which SCO will be no more:-)).
What will be next?
Will humming a tune be illigal, unless you do it in your own house?
Will singing a song, which you just heard on the radio, become illigal?
Will you be convicted for writing a letter to your mom containing phrazes used in a song?
It might be a good idea to get a pattent on every word you write/say;-)
What's this world comming to. I live in Belgium, and over here EMI
started a video commercial to make people aware that downloading music is stealing. Well, let me tell you this, back in 1985 the price for a CD was about 17.5 and it still is now, in 2003. Somehow i don't believe that production costs etc haven't dropped like 70-75%. So where does the rest of my money go? Actually i don't care, i only care about the 17.5 I have to pay.
You can hear it everywhere, profits have dropped by 30, 40, even 50% because of downloading from the net. Well, my guess is, if the prices had dropped alongside the production costs, they'd be at about the same point.
The only mistake they made was thinking the well wouldn't dry out;-) Seems like the well has some leaks after all.
I suggest they change the concept.
They should call it Crash-It-UrSelf and give the winner a new linux box.The one who crashes his box beyond repair first is the winner.
I wear pretty casual clothes at work. A (mostly ThinkGeek) T-Shirt, jeans and sport shoes are my kind of thing. While at work nobody complains about how i dress, the nightclub i went to last saturday, kicked us out just because of the sport shoes. How about that:-)

Hey, who's breaking down my door screaming "FREEZE FBI !!!"?
Thought it was just a proposal
Btw: If the time comes, it won't cost that much, they'll just have to legalize Echelon
