regardless of the Battery life, you can be Garanteed that even if Sony doesn't come up with some super-battery or some kinda charging system, one of the Hundreds of third Party Hardware companies will make the effort to cash in on it.
they already do for the GBA, why should the PSP be any different
frankly, i like the Idea of having Gran Turismo on the PSP, i just hope it'll link with GT4 on the PS2 so that i can have one GT save for both instead of 2 seperate saves
but i do agree that they should Emphasise creating new IPs(Intelectual Properties) for the PSP
IMO, MOO3 was not a disapointment, it delivered what it claimed, a highly interactive 4x game with an extremem attention to detail in both Micro and Macro Management
they probably just did it too well, the learning curve is almost astronomical
i just can't get into PC racers, the feel just isn't right, maybe its just cuz my PC is a piece of crap and won't run anything made after 1998.
but judging from the Screenshots and what i can see on the site, neither game has really impressed me, sure, the graphics are really good, but i think i'll wait for GT4
actually, the reason they where able to release the Double pack on the X-Box was due to a loop-hole in the Contract, the agreement doesn't end until this Fall, this is evident by the fact that the next game in the series is PS2 Exclusive
Spend an hour playing PGR2, TOCA 2, or Rallisport Challenge 2 on xbox live, then tell me all about Gran Turismo
done, done, done... Gran Turismo 3 still beats them in terms of overall Racing goodness, maybe not Graphically, but in Physics and Customisation GT has them beat, as well as in overall replayability
IMO, Gran Turismo 4 will crush them even more, 800+ cars, 50+ tracks, completely true-to-life Tuning and Customisation, Full Online, including Downloadable cars and tracks with the HD and NA Expansions, a Physics engine that is, in some cases, less than 1/10 of a second in difference from Reality(in comparative tests), and just about anything else a Hardcore racing fan could ever think of... How can anything else compare
now, in giving credit where credit is due, all three of the games you mentioned are very well done games and IMO are 3 of the best Racing games on the Market, but they just can't compare to the overall immersion that the GT Series gives you
actually, as much as i'd like to agree with you, in the console world, "Exclusive" refers to the fact that its exclusive for that console, most Exclusivity agreements make no mention of PC because its a completely different platform, which is the Reason that GTA3 and Vice city where able to be ported to the PC.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Gran Turismo 4, Altered Beast, Driv3r, Street Racing Syndicate, NARC, Devil May Cry 3, Kindom Hearts 2, Final Fantasy XII, and on and on...
yes, i know some of those aren't exclusive, but you did the same thing (Starcraft: Ghost and Full Spectrum Warrior both have PS2 release dates)
that being said, the "sushi-RPGs and repetitive kung-fu fighting games" are catering to an Audience that you probably don't subscribe to, then again, i could care less about Doom 3, FSW, and Advent Rising because i don't subscribe to their intended audience (but the rest that you mentioned are on my must-buy list... yes, that means i own an X-Box)
i also want to note, that anyone that didn't see a sale slump for the PS2 coming from 6 months ago needs a reality check, do P2-450MHZ computers sell as well now as they did when they first came out? i think not, old technology will be replaced, thats a proven fact
it always has been and probably always will be a major selling point, even before the Gaming industry sex was used to sell everything from Magazines to soap. its just simple marketing to target the most basic of Human instincts.
what, you gonna try to tell me that Tomb Raider had a top knotch storyline, or awesome gameplay? no, it had a big-breasted gunslinging Woman in it. even games like Duke Nukem owe some part of their success to Sex (a shootout in a Porn store... Throwing money at strippers).
frankly, i'd be amazed if the VG industry didn't use Sex to sell games.
name one game that has a Manual that you actually have to read... or even look at nowadays. most manuals have the buttons and maybe a short back-story thats usually explained in the game intro anyways.
as a matter of fact, The Classics are the ones with textbook manuals (namely 688 Attack Sub, F117, Civilization, etc.)
there are exceptions, but its Rare. Ziff-Davis usually bring along about a 1/2 dozen Contest winners every year and alot of other news Companies do the same.
but seriously, whats to stop me from spending 10 minutes registering a domain name and putting a short blurb on it about how its a gaming news site, and then register for E3 as Part of the Media?
i'm hoping to hear more from Rockstar about about GTA: San Andreas and NARC, specifically screenshots and Videos, i'm also really interested in seeing if we can Finally get a confirmed car list for GT4(nobody post that list thats been passed around for the past 6 months, its not real, its just a Wishlist), maybe even some news about Ferarri and Lambourgini's Licenses.
other than that, i'm hoping for a Fallout 3 Announcement, news about Jade Empire, Fable, KOTOR2, and maybe a few more Details about FFXII.
i just hope this isn't just the year of Sequels and remakes, i'd like to see some good Honest Original Material, Jade Empire and Fable sound like a good start but i really hope some more devs start jumping into the unknown more this year.
oh, and there better be a Gran Turismo for the PSP, that would make me a Garanteed PSP Customer
IMO, a game having a completely in depth storyline and superb Charactor interaction is a big Plus in my books, but i find alot of heavily story-based games are lacking one extrememly important feature, Interactivity, the ability to actually mold your charactor to the exact way you would act. Maybe you don't want to save the Princess, Maybe the world isn't worth saving to your charactor, maybe you don't want to be a part of the Story anymore, then where do you turn, the game gets boring and ends up on the previously Owned rack at EB.
games like Morrowind and the upcoming Fable have it right, instead of Writing a Storyline and creating a world around it, they created a World and integrated a Story that you can choose to take part in, or turn your back and become a Ruthless Killer or whatever else you want. its your Story, made your way and based upon how you want to do it, and hell, maybe half-way through your game you decide that the main plot is worth doing and work it into your storyline.
any smart kid knows the Default code, and if they don't, they know where to find it. Parents are too lazy to change the code usually so Parental Controls never work.
besides, if the parent did change the code, a Patient kid could probably figure a way in (ie. unplug the console for 15 minutes, thus, resetting the code)
Technically, Were still up in a tree deciding whether or not its safe enough, or practical enough to go down to the ground. only the tree is earth and the Ground is Space... if ya catch my Drift
you stop playing the game for fun, and start playing the game to find out how it ticks and where all the stuff is. you spend more time writing notes and drawing maps than you do playing the game. then you get to spend multiple hours putting a book together based on your notes, and then you run into the problem of one or two of your notes being wrong so you go back through the game again to make sure your notes are right.
that in itself isn't the biggest problem, its when the Boss says "your gonna write a Guide for Game X" but Game X sucks and is probably the worst game ever made... nonetheless, you still have to go though it and figure everything out even though you wouldn't have given it the time of day anywhere else.
this is why sites like GameFAQs are so great, because the people who write the Guides actually Like tha Game enough to put in their own time and Effort, it may not be the Best Quality Guides, but the people that write them are doing it because they enjoy it.
thats true, the Thumbstick positions where an afterthought, but IMO if they had redesigned the controller entirely then i know i would have complained, i like the way everything is designed around the SNES controller.
besides, the Thumbsticks aern't in that bad of a Position, but then again i have long fingers so maybe its just me
they already do for the GBA, why should the PSP be any different
don't forget the guy thats says "changing the Lightbulb, is it good, or is it whack?"
don't you mean, to prevent people from easily Modding it? thats was the original Purpose for all the Re-tooling, they where trying to Prevent Modding
but i do agree that they should Emphasise creating new IPs(Intelectual Properties) for the PSP
all Consoles sell at a Loss for usually the first year after release, after that, the Income starts catching up to the Expenses.
it does, and you don't even have to Hack the PS2 to get it to run Linux, you just have to Buy the Linux Kit from Sony
they probably just did it too well, the learning curve is almost astronomical

We never "like" Microsoft, but the X-Box makes it somewhat bearable to have them around
yes, i know some of those aren't exclusive, but you did the same thing (Starcraft: Ghost and Full Spectrum Warrior both have PS2 release dates)

Violence is a part of the Human Subconcious, and Shielding kids from Violence will only make them unprepaired when their put in a violent situation
so what your saying is, that the Article could be saying:
9/10 Open Source Developers use Open Source?
you should be able to get Satellite though, you could be the only /.er in space
Technically, Were still up in a tree deciding whether or not its safe enough, or practical enough to go down to the ground. only the tree is earth and the Ground is Space... if ya catch my Drift
