    Give me a break! You can change your phone number any day of the week. Number portability is closer to convenience and a nice way of breaking a single companies hold on you. I know a lot of people who would like to change companies but who don't want to give up there numbers. They are held captive and must put up with the current companies "pricing structure" and coverage.

    Unfortunately, the reason people SPAM / telemarket / junk mail is that they are rewarded for annoying others. Think about it, how much effort would people put into telemarketing if they couldn't scam people into actually buying stuff. They have a saying that it takes so many NO's to get a YES. There is some fraction that actually goes for the crap. Maybe 1% actually clicks through a SPAM and maybe 1% of those actually buy, but the "advertiser" gets paid for the 1% and maybe 1% or 1% is something like 10000 paying fools. SPAM is a game of numbers and fools.

    Thank you Mr. Sploxx, Sir for your kindly aruments. Not sure why I didn't see the wisdom of these Netherlites to whom you refer. Perhaps its due to emotion felt over my aging computer which is soon to celebrate its fifth birthday (quite hard to believe and admit). Or perhaps its my fear of museums sparked by that incident with the preserved gorilla the the animatronic mouth at that pizza museum. Anyway your patients and gentle words have persuaded me to cease persecuting the punched out cards and moldy monitors and repair the dried out rubber wheels of my heart.

    Are you from Florida? There has not been a valid reason to use punch cards for the last twenty years. Any information stored on punch cards is old and therefore worthless. Those cards are best preserved in a landfill.
    I hope this kind rebuke will set you on the true path.

    1. If the Netherlands has so much money, as you claim, then why can't they afford new computers?
    2. A museum should contain items that are interesting to others. How many would venture into a junkyard of mold computers to look at the "exhibits?"
    3. Perserving crap serves no purpose. Why not start a museum of Gremlins, Pintos, Festivas, Yugos... (See my other posts)

    Why don't they just buy newer computers instead of putting up with that old garbage? You may say blah blah blah rich American blah blah, but even something five years old would be much better than old junk. As they say in the 2nd Wind exercise equipment commercial, "why buy new when slightly used will do?"

    What I don't understand is why everyone is so rude when I call. If people are around during dinner, in the early morning, or late evening, it only makes sense to call during those times. I have sold many excellent products and services such as calling plans, news papers, police retirement funds, and so on. Hearing about such things is surely worth a couple of minutes away from your supper.
