Not to mention they just ignore the problems with anything that says Grand Theft Auto and automatically declare it perfect. While some of the same problems with GTA in other games drops it a point.
Playing GTA for an hour pretty much gives you the whole game. I do like mindless killing though, just saying it's a very overrated game.
It was fun until 5 minutes in when you found the first game halting bug. And engaging in trying to ignore the bugs.
Although I did play it all the way through, didn't have a good selection of games at the time./shrug
Hell, give the people that go on killing sprees fully automatics and they'll probably hit less people and run out of ammo faster.
I'd be more worried about a weapon with Burst shot then a full automatic. Hell, it's hard to hit multiple targets with my AK47.(First time shotting one at 15 years off I almost shot my own foot;)
I switched to ATI last year, and haven't had a problem. Worked fine on Linux also. Just recently reinstalled XP on a shared partition and it's making my Svideo out another desktop screen instead of it just showing what on my monitor too, although I think that's probably windows and I'm being retarded.
Give ATI a try again, they are doing pretty good.
While CG looks nice and all, it still is noticable that it's CG.
There is definately something to be said for fight scenes using real people, even wirefighting looks good. As long as they make it look real. Look at crouching tiger hidden dragon, while I didn't care much for the fighting in the trees and on water, it still looked damn good.
Also Kill Bill, while alot of people hated, the fighting was damn good, except for one quick scene in my mind.
Personally, I prefer real actors to CG, even though it'd be hard to have a huge battle like that. If I remember right, and it's been awhile, Stargate the movie had a scene with around 2000 extras in a single battle.
London wasn't evacuated, but the scene at the start with no one on the streets was REAL. Look it up, think imdb talks about it. They bribed people to stay off the street with breasts I believe.
I don't know about you but I enjoyed it a ton more then LOTR. I would much rather see non CG fight scenes, without a bunch of guys crying and hugging.
No plot? Were you stoned? It might not be ground breaking plot, but it was mainly an action film. The blood spraying was abit much but it made me giggle.

It didn't have an ending because it didn't end. It's only part 1. It was originally one movie but they broke it in into two parts.

Speakeasy where I'm at will sell me their 728K/whatever or something service, except Qwest line will only get 640/256. I found that entertaining, it will also cost more using Speakeasy.

Beyond Good and Evil is way underrated as is Metal Arms, along with not being hyped. I also am really enjoying Deus Ex 2 on Xbox, although that load time is harsh.
Too many games seem to have been pushed back this year. Ninja Gaiden being a big one for Xbox. There are a ton of fantastic looking games coming out at the start of the year, seems everyone missed the Christmas deadline.
I was interesting in this game, very interested now that it runs on Linux. Although I have enough games for Xbox and PS2 to keep me busy for a year, how is the FPS aspect? I was a *huge* fan of Unreal Tournament and really haven't played another FPS that hooked me in like that.

You should have mentioned Counter Strike on Xbox. What the hell were they thinking? Great game, but where the hell are the upgrades? It's like they just added bots, wait, that is all they did do. Why they didn't spend time atleast upgrading the textures is beyond me. Even on progressive scan it looks like a monkey is constantly slinging shit at the screen.

Only on bit torrent? There are alot of news servers that get great speeds, FTP's(Harder to find), Some IRC. I use usenet for almost everything.
with 640Kdown/256Kup DSL it really doesn't take long to download a movie. Sure it's easier to go rent one, but usually what I want to see isn't in. And I can get a few movies while I'm at work to watch later.

My parents recently got annexed into the city of Boise. They are getting charged for Sewer maintenence also. The thing is, there is *NO* sewer system in our whole neighborhood. Yet, they have to pay for it. Everyone is on a well. When they first got annexes they did a vote in the neighborhood to have a sewer put it, it didn't pass. They were going to charge each house over $1000, just for the sewer on the street, this did *NOT* include having the actual sewers hooked up to their house.
Their house value seems to have jumped about $40K according to the state property taxes, and their taxes went up almost a full grand.
On an outcome they had no decision about is quite lame. There is nothing they can do either.
Isn't this offset by the say, two $30,000+ surgeries my mother needed on Medicare? Yes, thats 5 digits, she had both her knees replaced before of RA. I'll believe the surgery was not easy, or simple, but it really did NOT last long.

I had a similar situation when I went to the ER with a very broken nose. It was obvious to anyone it was broken, I had broken it many times before and where it had broken before it was seperated, looked nasty.
After sitting in the ER for over an hour and a half with a sore nose I finally had a doctor come in. Here is exactly what happened in the less then a minute he was there.
Glances at me and sees the obvious.
"Hi Ryan, looks like you broke your nose pretty bad. Can you breath okay?"
"Yes"
"Okay, we don't fix broken noses here, I'll have the nurse refer you and give you an ibuprofen."
And leaves.
I get bill from said doctor, excluding the hospital charges he alone charged my insurance $817 for that. I also had to pay $2 for a pill, and $200andsomechange for "Emergency Care."
I guess Emergency Care being the bed I got to sit in for an hour in a half.
How can they seriously charge this much?
Two weeks later I got the 'surgery' done to fix it. They numbed my face and pushed it back. It costs less then the total cost of the visit to the ER. And I got a bottle of vicodin out of it and a fixed nose.
