OOh! And don't forget, it'll need more bandwidth than kernel.org, to handle the INCREDIBLE strain of supporting those massive FLAC files!

Get over yourself. A lossy codec doesn't automatically mean that the music is crap.

"Unlistenable?" Geez, and here I was, thinking that the mp3 codec became famous because people USED it. Must've been a dream...

"And the latest ideas in OS research have been mostly ignored because of the momentum of the Linux hive."

That's weird, I'm involved with several OS/systems research projects right now, and Linux is being used as a test platform for all of them. Thus, Linux is actually at the FOREFRONT of OS research.

In addition, a huge number of the papers I read are using Linux as well...

Next time, troll, be a little more vague in your accusations. It makes them harder to debunk.

What is a protein? Not a random conglomeration of molecules, but the last step in a long chain of directed chemical synthesis.

I think the naysayers are being too close-minded in their consideration of what a molecular assembler may look like.

Now that these benchmarks have come out, the common thread seems to be "Speed isn't so important", etc.

Are you serious? How much money do you think Valve makes off of the sale of a game? How many MILLIONS?

Do you HONESTLY think that they would even make 1/10 of that solicting for donations from the good of one's heart?

How much money do you think cdex + xiph + bittorrent + scorched3d + blender + tons o' other donation-based projects get per year? Answer) A mere fraction of a fraction of a fraction as much as Valve does.

Does the SCO IP License for Linux include a media kit?
No. Nothing needs to be installed on the server or embedded device.

    How are the licenses activated?
Licenses are activated by registering the license with SCO and identifying the system covered by the license. The identification of the system can follow whatever identification conventions you use internally. (i.e., by name, by location, etc.)

Tho we're mocking them, this just shows how little research and planning has gone into this assault of theirs...

So we just say, "We here at DumbCorp have 10 Linux machines, here's $7k.", and they say "Ok, we'll write that down over here," and that's it? No license key? No official receipt? No holographic sticker?

This might be the most telling example of how short-sighted this "strategy" is. I wonder how many localhost.localdomains they were planning on having registered.

    What a bunch of fools...
