    Other than buying drugs/hacking/childporn from a distance...will there ever be anything POSITIVE we can do with this technology

    When governments tried to silence Wikileaks by cancelling their paypal/credit cards etc, they were still able to receive funding by using bitcoin.

    You may not consider that positive, but I do.

    It might have just been dismissed on a technicality. No point in speculating until the court releases their rationale, especially if you don't know anything about German law (of which I know a grand total of about five sentences worth of knowledge. For example, I know that most if not all of the judges are German).

    There's a well-respected societal role for a God, but you have to turn water into wine and give away fish and bread, and in the end I warn you it doesn't turn out well. Although you get resurrected.

    Trump seems to think that he's fighting for the worker. At least, a lot of laborers I know favor the wall, and even here on Slashdot workers have favored his changes to the H1b system. Cesar Chavez opposed illegal immigration from Mexico too. He thought it undercut labor wages.

    Search is a viable business on its own. Google was making plenty of money before they started tracking users. For a while some terms were earning 15 or 20 per click.

    I don't see any problem with Google search not being able to use their data to advertise on sites like Slashdot. That seems like a preferable outcome.

    Search isn't really a business on it's own. Google's search exists in order to provide advertising revenue.

    Search makes money on advertising, but they also provide a lot (if not most) of the other ads that you see around the internet, including on Slashdot. That is their ad network. And while you brought up the topic again, Youtube could be broken out into a separate company, too.

    I think Elizabeth Warren's main problem is that most people don't hate these companies. A very vocal minority complains about them, but most people who use Amazon or Facebook are quietly happy about it.

    Bernie Sanders is polling ahead of Warren right now. Warren is getting a lot of coaching and her on-camera persona is improving quite a bit.

    Bernie doesn't seem likely to drop out though, unless he drops dead/sick.

    I very much prefer lambda LINQ queries for example.

    LINQ is quite beautiful and I wish more people knew about it. Being able to write SQL straight in the code is sweeter than sugar. People do very confusing and strange things with it, though.

    Pretty sure your second paragraph is false. In general so far in my life I've been able to control roughly how much I want to work. Right now I am working 60 hours a week at two jobs, but that is by choice, since I took a rather long sabbatical before that. I regret nothing.

    Do you think that if you spend less time asleep, you will somehow get more personal time? Do you think that if you sleep less, you will be able to do more work?

    I would be happy to do either of those in exchange for sleep.
