Well, if you'd ever read Frazer's seminal anthropology-of-religion book, The Golden Bough, you'd recognize this nonsense as sympathetic magic -- in particular what he calls the "Law of Contact or Contagion". There's also an element of the law of similarity; in this case rather than like causing like (the pounding of a rain dance causing rain), you have like cures like.
I have problems with that book because it's so old, its anthropology is out of date, and sometimes based on completely wrong information. That is, we've learned a lot about other cultures since then, and the field has become more rigorous.
I wish there were a version that were more up to date, because the general concept of the book is good.
Worth mentioning that a pickup truck can also be awesome fun to drive in its own way. A lot of people don't realize that. At the extreme end you have the F-150 raptor, which clocks in at 450HP. But even a decent towing pickup feels good when you have the growl of power underneath the wheel.
Apple looks into making the phones in the US and their answer is to ask the Chinese company they're currently using, who has no interest in making them in the US, how well that would work?
Foxconn is Taiwanese. They would probably be more than happy to reduce their dependence on China, which is a tenuous relationship at best.
That would be like $1.2 million after taxes, so it probably wouldn't last very long. It's not like you're going to get a 10% return on that investment anywhere.
'Left' and 'Right' are useless terms, don't use them. The terms were invented because of how people sat during the French Revolution. Show a little thought and use a term that more accurately matches the group you are trying to describe.
Windows is a relatively small portion of Microsoft's revenue now. They see huge potential in the cloud (and that is Nadella's specialty, what he did before becoming CEO), so that is the point of all that they are doing. They've been trying to draw users into their cloud, and will do it with many different enticements.
So......you have two appeals to authority in your post. One is to the European people, and one is to 'the internet.'
I'll be honest, your sources of information are pathetic at best, no better than the people you insult. If you're going to insult people, at least say, "I got my information from NASA" or "according to the IPCC, X is true." Even a lesser source like NYT, WSJ, or BBC would be better than what you have..........
It is their job to find good information, and make it easy to find. I agree with your post too, that they shouldn't censor or correct. So I agree with both sides.
Tough decision.
throw out the textbook American journalism has been using for the better part of the past half-century........move closer than you’ve ever been to being oppositional.
Note that this is actually editorial content, not news.
I would mod you up if I could.

That's rather impious of you to say.
The legal profession still insists on hand-delivered messages, believe it or not.
Maybe someday we can finally get rid of fax machines.
Not to mention powershell can mess up redirects (especially with binary files) in ways that cmd.exe won't.......
But there is a strong pattern in the US of "rural" culture versus "urban" culture
Then say urban/rural. That is both more descriptive and doesn't derive from archaic French politics.
That wouldn't change the distribution of jobs--it wouldn't create new jobs (by having new workers)
It would create new jobs in America, right? That is, jobs that weren't in America before would now be in America.

......what if it comes alongside automation, which actually makes production costs cheaper?

The unemployed get free health insurance? Since when?
It's called Medicaid and it's been around for a long time.

Oh, wake me up, when Trumptember ends!
If I were in charge, I would ban only the most obvious cases, and leave the uncertain areas untouched. Easiest way to avoid controversy.

many organizations. If that includes yours, good luck "avoiding it."
I do :)

For a while this fake news site was the top result in Google for the search query 'who won the popular vote?'
Question......how is QT backwards compatibility? I've been hearing complaints that things keep breaking.
SQL Server Express, debuggers, the full AD infrastructure, etc
Better choice to avoid using all those altogether.
