I work at a Target store in WA state. We sell the Nokia N-Gage. Well actually, "sell" isn't the right word. We have them available for sale. Since it's debut, we haven't sold a single one. Only two people have even inquired about them: a 10-year-old kid who was only interested in it for it's.mp3 playback ability, and another kid whose mother didn't want to spend $300 on something that small.
I prefer to play female characters in games like Everquest, DAoC, SWG (the beta, anyway) and others.
Why?
Because people like to give money to women.
One time I was playing EQ as my female cleric, just minding my own business in the North Freeport bank. This guy comes up to me and starts saying how beautiful I am (all in role-playing mode)...so I role-play back. When it was all said and done, I walked away with 400pp of free money.
All because I was a "female."
This is awesome! I've been a huge fan of DragonLance for quite a number of years now (books, AD&D modules, etc). Neverwinter Nights is a good RPG engine, and I have high hopes for a DL game.
Sadly enough, I don't think that the Earthbound series has enough fans loyal enough to purchase a new system just to play the game. Nintendo knows this, I'm sure.
I, on the other hand, would buy the new system only to play a new Earthbound game.
If only they'd remake Maniac Mansion...
For me, this is absolutely great news.
The SNES version of Earthbound remains one of my all-time favorite RPGS, and video games in general. When I first heard rumors of a new one being made for the N64 I almost couldn't contain myself. Needless to say, I was more than disappointed when it was "cancelled."
If they make an Earthbound game for the GCN, I will definitely buy it. If they re-release Earthbound for the GBA, I am definitely buying it. If they do decide to release the original Mother on the GBA over here in the states, I'm getting that as well.
There is a game that I have been saying Nintendo should remake for years......Maniac Mansion!
This is perhaps one of the best, yet least appreciated, NES games ever made. It was funny, clever, witty, innovative, original, and best of all, extremely fun. You could play through the game many, many different ways, adding a *lot* to the replay value.
I think that an updated GCN version of this would be awesome. I would definitely buy it.
Also, an updated version of Final Fantasy VI for the GCN would be the best idea ever. Keep the storyline, characters, plot and everything the same, just give it modern graphics. I would gladly pay $60+ for that.
If I had a ps2 to go along with my GCN, I would also NOT be buying Final Fantasy X-2.
Final Fantasy X was a horrible game...probably the worst in the Final Fantasy series (if you don't count Mystic Quest). The story was piss-poor, the game was too easy...in fact, the entire game seemed to be graphics driven instead of story-line driven. Notice how Final Fantasy VI and Final Fantasy VII, the two *best* FF games, are more about in-depth story then graphics.
Anyway, I will probably be getting Crystal Chronicles. It looks interesting, and isn't the sequel to a shitty game.
The only thing I don't like about the DC universe in fighting games is that you have characters like Superman and WonderWoman. No other character would be able to defeat them without massive outside assistance.
Batman DID beat Superman in a fight once (in Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns" but he had the aid of Kryptonite).

If Acclaim would stop making games that completely suck, maybe they'd see their profits go up.

Those are of the city of Solace. And, might I add, they looked *very* sweet.

Yeah, Thief II is the scariest/creepiest game I've ever played. The ghosts that talk backward and the giant spiders....just plain creepy.
