    Even if you took every bit of their money and all of their wealth, it wouldn't be enough to do all the things they want done.

    No, the answer is to lower government spending by cutting out the waste, fraud and abuse. It's been proposed before, but never really been done. Bureaucracies rarely die a voluntary death.

  4. I already do that to some extent. I have a Prime account and routinely buy stuff for a lot of my friends and family. Amazon just pushes whatever is related to my last purchase, whether relevant to my likes or not.

    It's funny watching their "suggestions based on my purchases or browsing history" toys, purses, dresses, jewelry, cookware, crayons, athletic gear, adult diapers, etc., to me, a 63 year old widower who didn't buy any of that kind of stuff for me. I've even seen ads on my phone for Barbie dolls, simply because I bought one for somebody else.

    I searched for myself last year online and found out I was a black college student in my twenties. Really?

    I'm undecided about whether to blame the browser or the idiot who writes the code for the website. There are some very poorly written sites out there.

    Right now my pet peeve is websites that drop down a page-sized menu whenever the cursor passes over a menu link. If I want to see what's in that menu, I'll click on it, thank you.

    Knowing who modded a comment makes moderation worthless. If they do that, I'm out of here. You'll never get honest moderation when the moderator has to fear retaliation.

    You're right. The lines have to be equal. Otherwise, next time I need to find the center of a circle all I'd have to do is pick any point within the circle.

    Draw a circle. Pick a point anywhere within the circle. Now draw three lines from that point to the edge of the circle. According to how it's stated in the article, you've chosen the exact center of the circle. Fat chance of that! In reality, though, your chances of finding the center that way are too low to even talk about.

    The crapware installed by AT&T annoys me far more than the crapware from Google. At least some of the Google apps are useful.

    What annoys me about Google is that whatever you're using today may be gone tomorrow.

    I'll take my chances. I'm already running anti-malware and anti-virus software. All Windows updates, including security updates now, are disabled and have been for months. I see Microsoft as a bigger threat than whatever wee beasties that may be out there.

    I think most people here are savvy enough to keep their systems safe. The ones I am concerned about are the ones who don't know anything beyond turning on their computer and reading Facebook.

    I've been studying human female geography for years. Fascinating terrain and beautiful features are there for all to admire. I can look at a platinum blonde and tell whether it's virgin metal or a common ore.

    I've also met my fair share of females who have too much in common with glaciers. Got too close to one of them and nearly got frostbite on my naughty bits.

    One of the wisest teachers I ever had said that if you were limited to just two courses beyond basic reading, writing and arithmetic, those two courses should be geometry and Latin. Latin for understanding and a command of the English language, and geometry for understanding the logic used in proofs.

    I took both, actually four semesters of Latin and two of geometry. I guess in my case it didn't work as planned, but I'm still a lot of fun at parties.

    The defendant is dead. There won't be a trial.

    Whatever evidence they find on the phone pointing to other potential terrorists would probably not be enough to prosecute them. It may be enough to warrant further investigation of them.
