I wonder what the heat dissipation is like for a mecha case made out of insulating foam. How many fans do you need to keep the robot from melting due to the power of the AMD processor?
Ok... This would be the projector for you...
EXPENSIVE!!! Of course its a little over the top... but there are options if you have the $.
And the syntax for href:P
This Site Rocks!!!
The image isn't deteriorating... your eyes aren't deteriorating.... the bulb is deteriorating. Isn't the average lifespan for the bulbs in these projectors around 5000 hrs of use? Perhaps a weak bulb is incapable of providing a crisp image after that long.
Well thats easy. You go from start through settings to control panel and then add/remove programs... select the patch you want to remove from the list and click the button that says uninstall software. And if you want to know what the patch is actually doing just open it up with a package management tool. Installshield makes a gawdy one that you have to pay for, but there are several that you can try for free. Maybe you should stop crossing your fingers and analyze the logic problem before you. It's not like windows doesn't require administration.... just try to hold your nose while doing it and everything will be fine.
Whoa... I wasn't the only one. What was really awesome was realizing that i could then | more so that I could peruse the output at will. Thanks... you took me back there for a couple seconds:)
I wish more people shared this sentiment in the US. I have been getting off my ass and out to protest the wasteful killing of iraqis over the past few months. We need to each start taking a personal stand for what we know is the good fight. Just sitting back letting the news drone you into fearful consumerism isn't right. I think that Andrew Jackson was right. When the time comes where businesses can influence either directly or indirectly the functioning of our 'democratic state' there will be need of a revolution.
Are we doomed to see something in the future along the lines of philip k dick's vision? I surely hope not. What can we do to limit it to realms that it currently holds its position in. There are enough billboards already please stop building new ones.
I'm sure/.ers are in agreement that the brave new world needs better watchdogs not more invasion of liberty for safety and security. But how do you explain this to a luddite and get them to see the political ramifications?
I was wondering when we would see more of the network becoming the system bus for the computer. Sun, IBM, HP, and others have been working toward this type of architecture where a network serves as the interconnect for cpu's, ram, disks. Was a good read, but left me wanting more... Soon. Why is it so rare to see good stories make the frontpage on/.?
Microwave power transmission always seemed like a slick idea until you try to control whatever line-of-sight airspace connects your transmitter and receiver. I would like to see this supersized in a satellite sending solar radiation down to earth-bound substations... but what about all the pretty birdies? Taste like chicken I guess...
I saw a lot of "yeah-technology" arguments about where grass-roots development is happening. But having access to buying things from amazon ubiquitously in my daily life.... don't need it or want it... does anyone? Gaming communities... maybe... let's see what happens to doom III mods at the end of the year... Wireless Networking... I like to go for walks to enjoy nature, not to focus on some digital device... Does anyone really see a killer app here?
Of course... you have seen ellen feiss haven't you. Her reasoning for choosing a mac was it was easy cuz she was like typing a paper on a pc and it went beep beep beep and no more paper.... so now she uses a mac and the world is wonderful. For people like this handling multiple buttons on the mouse is like whoa too involving. I think apple may be moving way too fast for its userbase on this one...
I'm really confused by someone equating obtuse code they can't understand as bad programming. I want more discussion on how the information encoded in genes acts. Not "This is the worst kind of spaghetti code you can imagine..." and posturing like we can't possibly understand it.
but what proof must the prompt geek provide that he hasn't 'trespassed' on others systems? would this type of legislation just create a lot of crap civil-litigation?
Definitely would help but how often is there an emp blast going off that close to the datacenter? I guess if you need that security by all means go pay for it. It will just cost you an arm and a leg comparable to the same volume of tape storage.
And what about performance issues in using so many small disk sets. What if the data I need to fit would span the maximum number of disks for 3 raid controllers. If I could get all the disks as one set then the distribution of work would be a major throughput advantage. Let alone that these are IDE disks that don't have a comparable MTBF to high end SCSI hardware.
Wait, let me get this straight you think Dreamweaver isn't bloated yet? I would really like to call foul on that one. It is a hideously bloated monstrosity with every widget and feature they could fathom how to code into it... but how much of that is unnecessary? I think dreamweaver is already upon the downward slope.... Just a question of time and what competitor is hungriest for success. Do the same thing just lighter, without all that interactive crap. Let me hotkey when I want you to close tags, etc.
I have 3 machines in my room with an ionic breeze quadra from the sharperimage. The effect is perfect if not set too high. This thing is too powerful and runs at low.... on high i can smell the ozone building in ~30 seconds.
I agree that many people will let this pass under their radar and continue to buy cisco's products. I just hope that infrastructure keeps going in so that foundry and others can start cutting out the seeming cisco routing monopoly.
Speak for yourself. My blood cruised right past pumping and is on a rolling boil. I need a damn job so I can get my paws on one... affordable 64 bit computing. I can finally get the solaris geeks to go 'it has what inside?' Anyone else released good benchmarks for this hardware today?
since refuting this entire list would take too long... i'm focusing on #5. It's called process priority. Set anything you aren't worried about losing cycles to whats in the foreground to 'low' and problem solved.

Did anyone else think there should have been a tux present at their silly little race?

I'd like to put a vote up for relational databases... Relational Databases before they were cool!

I hate to add nothing but cheering, but this is the kind of comment that makes me wish it could be modded to 6 :P
