Right now the current layman's attitude about the moon is that it's a big rock that reflects the sun at night to help with lighting conditions. If they made an ambitious first step on the moon by setting up a colony for long-term low gravity testing then there could indeed be a new race. If they don't make us look inferior by outdoing us and presenting a situation that will provide them greater avenues of technological research revenue... then the status quo will have been maintained.

Given the political power of corporations in the US and the EU there seems to be no place for free thinking when money might be changing hands due to the outcome of the policy. There will be an EU patent process for software. Whether any of the spin-offs are parodies or just reinterpretations which are not protected doesn't change much. It will be a fight for lawyers and Time-Warner has many many rich lawyers that will get this resolved in their favor. I am worried at how quickly the american fervor over 'Intellectual Property' becomes a matter of beating your competition in any venue other than the commercial one. And yet, how many people the world over would be willing to not purchase a copy of the next Harry Potter book in order to actually vote with their coin and force the evil corporations to take note that evil will not be tolerated?

Thus leaving all those wonderful works still held under corporate lock and key for the mere pittance to the corporations of 1$ per copyrighted work. I would argue that it is less about the quality of an individual model, animation path, texture quality, whatever aspect of the animation that makes it seem fake.
I think it's more the complexities of compositing and lighting of the animation into it's surroundings that is throwing the show. Whether the subject of the compositing is another real-life actor or some silly CG prat falling comedic device.
It's pretty simple to have a nicely textured object take up space in the frame of the shot, but making it look like it's supposed to be there requires an artistry that is too easily overlooked.

There actually are many great ways to deal with both toxic and nuclear waste products. There are also these pesky poorly-thought through federal laws in the U.S. that restrict what you can do to the waste. So we get pork-barrel construction contracts for many million$. I'll offer one convenient solution if electric power isn't a problem. Extremely high temperature plasma furnaces will turn whatever solid matter goes into the chamber into a hunk of glass. 23. Re:Recycling on Electronic Paper Advances · · Score: 5, Insightful

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I still haven't seen an ebook interface that is as intuitive as a real book or paper. It's pretty easy to see a paperclip (or whatever) in the top of a book. Having to press a few buttons to "mark" a place, then press a few more buttons to get back to that place is a PITA.
I wonder if it would really require such a PITA to deal with this. You read the page that you were last reading.... nothing else in the way. When you need the next page hit the page + button.
And the difficulty of moving around books and papers is greatly exaggerated.
I think the point made was more about the difficulty in composting/landfilling/recycling the old editions.
One, it's more difficult than "just" sending a new graphic to them. How do you get the graphic there? Two, keeping an e-paper sign lit up costs a lot more in electricity than paper-paper.
I believe the system is designed to include wireless networking. Anyplace that would have sufficient people moving past to warrant advertising should definitely by the time this is implemented have WiFi in abundance.
Whoopdy-freaking-do. If that's a problem, you have bigger problems.
This is such an intelligent point I had to say something. Like perhaps the Banks would offer access to a complete statement and cancelled checks etc... all on the card itself.... 'the portal to your financial world' the point being that the options boggle the imagination for a lot of people. Some would rather shoot it down.
It's called "recycling". Which is much easier to do with paper than electronics.
How much do you know about recycling? Do you realize the amount of energy that must be put into the recycling process is enormous. Very little recycled material actually gets back into the flow of goods as a lot is landfilled and we see no problem with just cooking another batch of plastics out of oil. The use of this type of paper would make buying your newspaper pointless... you bought the newspaper and it updates every morning with the new edition and every evening with the late edition. You would not need to produce another piece until yours broke. Or the new model came out with the chrome finish and the ipod interface design. While you find the arguments aren't compelling. I would like nothing more than to see people finally realize they can have a paperless office. Unless you are legally obligated to the SEC or some other regulatory agency to keep hard-copies lying around, why waste the trees? Now if we could just start using hemp for paper the argument gets quite different.... we'll save that one for another time.
