    Any ATM that old will be running OS/2, FWIW. Newer ones run Windows 2000, XP, 7, or some *nix. Windows 9x was never sturdy enough to even make it through QA.

    How about the forehead-prints? It's a mark IN their hand, not OF their hand. I can't read ancient Greek, but from what I've learned about the English translations they are pretty consistent in using either ON or IN. KJV uses "in", RSV, NLT, NIV, NASB use "on", and YLT uses "upon".

    Someone in Maryland fat fingered a DELETE action and deleted her tags instead of the ones they meant to delete.

    Not the driver's fault.

    Since she was deleted she got no renewal reminder.

    Now, that's the driver's fault. If the cops can see the expiration date on your registration, so can you (despite any forgetfulness).

    Unfortunately, giving government the power to do the former makes it easier for them to do the latter. Or haven't you noticed that you can't choose to not have health insurance? Or that having a gun is now considered a "health issue"?

    Gun crime is pretty rare in the UK, and tends to mostly be between gangs where things have escalated.

    Yeah, those brown people are a menace so let them just take each other out, amirite?

    Side note: Court Jester Joe Biden recently claimed in an interview with Field and Stream magazine that police were telling him they were "outgunned out there".

    These are the same police who can buy brand new, fully automatic weapons and the American citizen can't. If they're outgunned, they need to get bigger budgets and buy better guns, not take away ours.

    In 100% of the US, if you guy your gun from someone with a federal firearms license (basically every dealer), they have to run a background check. Beyond that, it's up to the states. Most Joe Blows don't find it profitable to sell at gun shows.

    As I understand it, it does work and the only metal parts are the firing pin and another useless part that is just there to meet US regulations for metal detection.

    Sometimes it does, actually. I'll tell you what doesn't: voting for the school board. Not a single candidate ever runs on the platform of not raising property taxes. As expected, this means your property taxes go up every year, even though you aren't earning more and your property is worth about the same. It's sad when someone loses their house not because they couldn't pay the mortgage, but because they COULDN'T PAY THE PROPERTY TAX.

    The best AV was Symantec Corporate Edition before they started stitching other companies' products (like boot encryption) to it. They'd bought Intel's LanDesk VP, fixed the bugs, and put it together with their superior virus signatures. It was rock solid and easy to manage.

    From my experience in this environments, the answer is yes if the version of VMS and/or hardware is unsupported. The problem IT has with reliable systems (or even just proactive IT processes that prevent incidents) is that management thinks their expertise is not needed, and gets rid of them. You basically have to create "noisy" projects (a little better than letting systems fail) so they notice you are "doing something" and not having LAN parties.

    The reason was, OS/2 was the most rock-solid OS you could run on a PC. My former company bought one of those voice mail systems in the 1990s (probably Repartee from Active Voice), and it was one system I never worried about. Ours was actually based on a Dell Optiplex.
