That sounds worthy of further research. I don't have blue LEDs in my clock, but it's an ancient Radio Shack model (I keep it because of the battery backup) with the old-school blue electroluminescent display. It's not terribly bright on the lower setting, fortunately.

Most motherboards blink the power LED in sleep mode. However, there is normally a separate connection for a "sleep" LED, so it's fair to say they're too cheap to add one LED.

i personally would lean more towards the former. due to the "War on Drugs" the U.S. prison population has quadrupled since the 1980's (despite a decline in violent crime and property crime), causing a nation with only 5% of the world's population to have 25% of the world's incarcerated population. therefore it's doubtful that every prison inmate is a murderer, rapist, thief, or bank robber.

I tend to agree with you, but this is a bit of a post hoc, ergo propter hoc argument. In addition, capital punishment was phased out (either de jure or de facto) in some states in the last two decades, increasing the general population. China doesn't have this problem because they keep their execution chambers busy.

Although this is probably limited to people who are caught after "disappearing" to avoid making the payments.

In New Jersey, you can be in the hospital with a life-threatening illness and they will put you in jail once you are released should you miss a payment. They know where you are, you are in no way capable of paying, you are not intentionally avoiding payment, but you will be jailed without due process of law as if you were an escaped criminal.

why the largest slaughters of humans have been in the names of religious deities

In the name of which deity were six million Jews murdered in WWII? For what religion did Chairman Mao execute and starve millions in the "Cultural Revolution?" To what religion did Josef Stalin, who was responsible for the death of at least 10 million, belong?

You may find this ironic, but I have asked all my Christian friends to challenge Obama if given the opportunity; since he claims to be a Christian, we are expected to call him out on his support of the murder of the unborn and even viable infants. He also supports the farming of clones for fetal tissue to support embryonic stem cell research. We don't need another Mao, Hitler, or Stalin who-- this time-- will set up the laws to passively enable the murder of millions by others. By the way, I agree with everything else you said.

I can't help but notice that the article contains no counterpoint to the "Jesus conspiracy" item. You only need to know that the Priory of Sion was a hoax and never existed (except in the minds of the two hoaxsters). Since all the "evidence" of his involvement with Mary Magdalene rests on alleged Priory of Sion texts, it renders the entire theory invalid. Unfortunately, the release of a hack movie by a hack writer only supported this foolishness. news flash: in Hollywood, they make stuff up (see also: the duplicate "Resolute desk" in National Treasure II").
