"Hey guys, our handhelds are doing poorly compared to the Handsprings, what should we do???"
Just buy em - then you can acquire the cool hardware, repackage it and then slap a cool new name on it.
new name - same crap.
anyone know how I can run linux on my visor?
There is only so much frequency space, and once it's been allocated, no one wants to give it up.
Do you really think that amateur radio operators will come forward and say "Hey, we've got bandspace to spare, take some of ours!"?
Maybe there should be more stringent standards on how much interference an appliance creates?
But personally I say we just eliminate the CB frequencies. Only those with too much spare time and no mobile phone use it anyways. Let it go and get FRS or GMRS for pete's sake!
MCSE and $8.50/hr??? Where did you get that number?
Sorry buddy... I will admit that OS X is a great platform, we use it for a few things in our support department. But it is *not* as great a trainer for *nix as everyone says it is. The best trainer IMHO is a simple Redhat, SuSE or Mandrake box that can be played around with - this is because it will work exactly how most other *nices work. I believe OS X is a bit too different to be a good trainer for most students looking to get into *nix work. The best trainer is smb.conf and httpd.conf on a Redhat box - just opinion.
Remember, I'm not saying it's not a good platform, I just don't agree about it being great for teaching.
Heh... that's funny.
But I must say that Microsoft products do keep lots of IT support folks such as myself gainfully employed.
But when will the world realize the majority of MS's products are pure crap?

I love the brother 1200 and 1400 series, you can buy a replacement toner for them for about $45 if you look hard. They're fast, reliable, and print very well. We have about 10 or so of them on campus that I maintain and I have yet to have a problem with them.

I've found that PCMCIA is always a pain when it comes to laptop linux installs... anyone know of any really good resources on this?
