Check out linuxprinting.org, they have lots of info. on printers. If you have questions about HP printers, email me at linux_deskjet@hp.com and I'd be happy to answer any questions.
My reccomendation is the deskjet 6127. It has built-in ethernet and is designed to be a workgroup printer.
What the/. community doesn't know is the politics and current situation going on in Oregon. Oregon, silicon forest, has the worst unemployment rate of the country. Second, and due to that, being we only have income and property tax (no sales!), the legislature is facing huge budget crunches. Criminals are being let out, school years are the shortest in the country and a whole host of other services are being axed. Government and schools need to save $$ wherever possible and I think linux could lead the way... check out my article at http://news.designtechnica.com/talkback21.html
One of the big misconceptions is that HP does not support Linux. We actually do, it's just that we don't market that fact well. HP does have a desktop offerings with Linux installed. I'm assuming that HP will play both sides of the fence with separate offerings...
"With or without these services, people would be able to share these files," the student said. "It's Microsoft that's allowing people to share these files; we're just accessing public information."
So, if some technotard shares out their "My Music" with windows file sharing, they are sueable?
