It's not just open source products but products that work well. I recently went over and fixed a friends computer and reclaimed it from spyware and crud. The first thing I installed was Firefox and disabled access to IE... but then installed MS Spyware checker. One screwdriver does not fit every screw...
The SD card slot not working was my only complaint about this laptop. I'm glad to see that there will be (eventually) a driver. All the other hardware is pretty standard and has out of the box drivers for it.
A copy is made at the uploaders end and is sent down the wire to the downloader. The downloader is merely receiving the copy, he did not create the copy (and couldn't since he doesn't have the original).
Whos's to say they don't have the original? What if the media is scratched or they don't have the time/knowlege to rip a copy? These are still legal activities.
I am the support person for the hp deskjet (hpijs) and AiO (hpoj) drivers.
Feel free to email me at linux.deskjet@hp.com or visit http://hpoj.sf.net and http://hpinkjet.sf.net

Sux that I have to find out from./ that we are doing this but hey, go us! I guess.
What is failed to be mentioned here, is that some of these techniques are also for forensics purposes. Take a look at some of the output from an HP color laser printer. AFAIK, there are dots on all the printouts. Depending on the size, color and placement on the paper, one can tell from which printer the document originated. If you can say "this forged bill came from a dj6122" because of x, y, z. And the suspect had that model of printer, it would be much easier to make the case.
You Carlys a chick right? LOL... and I don't remember her asking me if I'd take a pay cut to keep my job... the outsourcing ideas are coming from the top down, not the bottom up. So, when projects come up, management says outsource instead of looking locally.
In this case they didn't mention there would be a difference between the reviewed model and the consumer model. So, the site would be putting up false information and misleading it's customers becuase of deception on the part of the manufacturer.
It's called FairTax http://www.fairtax.org/site/PageServer
It takes a big man to admit his ignorance... It takes an even bigger man to laugh at that man.
I remember playing Bouncing Baby in turbo mode... that was hard!
I agree! Especially since the male ALWAYS determines the sex of the child. Plus, I am a statisical anomoly... I have two girls.
Actually yes. I made sure my PC had the PCI-E slot just for the graphics card I wanted.

Gives a new meaning to spreading firefox. hmm... and if you get a redhead to boot ;-)
check out http://hpinkjet.sf.net if you have a USB HP printer... but as far as getting a nice GUI for CUPS, not sure.
I'd like to see someone set that precedent and see how they fare.

Does anyone think of flying by penis when they read this?
Not yet...
my only issue using Linux in a corporate environment is not being able to add easily to the active directory domain.
You could if it were HP ;-)
Well, he's better than Nader...

That's all I have to say.
When Be first came out that was their montra too... "we're not out to compete with M$". Does that mean NW/Linux will suffer the same fate?
