Same here. At school, we use Borland C++ 5, and at home I use GCC. Programs I write at school don't compile at home without modification, and vice-versa. Now, I just need to convince the administration to upgrade.

The RIAA is either being advised by those that excel at incompetence, or they simply have the collective intelligence of a drunken band of chimps.

The problem is that an infinite number of drunken chimps at an infinite number of computers would eventually come up with the source to a virus that could somehow determine the difference between legal and illegal mp3s and delete the illegal ones.

IMO, Last night's episode was really good. Although, it could be pretty bad and just look good compared to the stuff we've been given so far. I noticed, also, that this episode was written by Berman. Maybe there's hope for him yet. More influencial, I think, was that it was directed by Levar Burton. I agree this series has potential, let's hope this new approach can tap into it.

I use the only broadband internet service available to me, I haven't been able to find the TOS online, and I'm too lazy to call :) I started running a small website off my box, and after a few weeks no one could connect to port 80. I guess they don't like webservers :)

"We therefore conclude that the merger serves the public interest, convenience, and necessity."

Public interest - It seems to me that most of us don't want this to happen, so how can it be serving the public interest?

Convienience - They might have this one if the merger allows more consumers access to broadband, although I would argue the "convience" of the higher prices this merger would create.

Necessity - I don't see a need for the merger, I'm doing just fine with my current broadband, thank you.
