So? What they are doing is waiting untill they know the service packs are reliable before applying them. It happened with SP4 (or was it 5). The pack was recalled within a week of release due to major bugs. If you want good uptime you don't want to be running the first service packs off the boat. Wait untill they've been tested in practice

Don't take this at as a troll comment, but telling him to add the features isn't very usefull. I'm sure there are many people that like a particular feature of IE over netscape or mozilla, so they use IE. I for example like the way IE pops up quicker than netscape or mozilla( I know it adds overhead, but my machine can take it). If the features of IE were available in mozilla or netscape I'd use them, but they arent. I dont have the skill to add the feature I'd like, and I don't have the time to learn them.

Students do still need to learn how to add because it gets them past the calculator side of math. My calculator can do all the math I need for my calculus class, and just about everyone there has one, does that mean I dont need to learn differentiation? Is that too high level, where is the line drawn? Starting with the simple task of addition and subtraction lays the ground work for the later courses. How do you teach someone to add to add two derivatives together if they dont know how to add other than using a calculator.

Word and Excel are "useless bullshit"? They are products that work for the most part. Microsoft my not make the best product in the world, but the fact of the matter is that they are popular. What would you prefer be taught? Maybe the problem isn't teaching someone to use the microsoft software, but teaching them only to use the microsoft software. Schools should expand computer eductation to teach systems like Linux/Unix, but most people don't care about that. They want to be able to check email and type papers. Just my 2 cents

In the long run it will just cause pain even if it does soften the blow over the short term.(although I doubt it could do that) We definitly need to stop using technology just because we can, it should be a means and not and end in itself.

I think the IP banning should be removed, I think it will probably just hurt people like haggar and will do little to stop ACs.
