Heroes 3, SMAC, Sim City 3k, Civ CTP, Mind Rover, Railroad Tycoon 2, Myth2, and Erics Ultimate solitare. 9 out of their 18 games announced are non shooters. Three of those shooters aren't first person. Yup, that's some variety
You assume they are providing good service. My experience has been that you pay 50 bucks a month for mediocre services, unless you count having service down for days at a time on a pretty regular basis good service.

My agreement stated it was unsupported, but not against the rules. This was also cleared up by contacting Mediaone(You just can't run any off of a undistributable list of prohibited servers)
7.1 was just released last month and runs quite well, 7.2 will probably also lag behind the x86 release. I seem to remember someone from RedHat stating that they wouldnt be officially supporting SPARC any more, but would continue to make RedHat available in some for the SPARC.
I've always preffered WordPerfect to office. I used 5-8 on Windows and 8-2000 on Linux, and found the interface more appealing. One thing I did notice is that Microsoft made Office "easier" by hiding a lot of options out of direct view. While it may be helpful for new users, it wasnt necessarilly as efficient to get to the features. Wish I could be more specific, but I havent used either Word Perfect or Word in a little under a year.
And the windows boot loader isnt used with any other os. Lilo can simply load up the NT/2k or Win98 boot loaders, they just load up Windows. Well, unless you are using an alpha and MILO to boot, then you are using the NT bootloader to load up Linux.
Not useless for Netscape 4 users though. Quite a bit of CSS support in netscape is dependand on Javascript enabled. Just try turning off js support and see the difference.
I can only vouch for releases since 4.0, but RedHat really does seem to have a sensible numbering system. They move to a.0 release whenever they break binary compatibility and like clockwork put out.1 and.2 releases that mainly seem to be bug fix releases as opposed to containing drastically different features. If debian went to.0 for every release that broke binary compatibility they'd probably do it every release because of the longer release cycles
They don't require 16 bit depth. I run at 24 bit and have no problem with CivCTP, Tribes 2, SOF, UT, Quake 3, Smac's Demo, or HG2. Now if I'm not mistaken DRI only works in 16 bit color, so if you use DRI and not Nvidia's drivers you have to run in 16 bit to get 3d accleration. That's definitly not something Loki did.
It only took one ill-fated attempt to add XFree86 to a Red Hat machine to convince me that rpm's file-based dependencies are inferior to dpkg's package-based dependencies.
Your problem is with RedHat's(and other's) packages. RPM allows you to use package based dependencies, the difference is that RPM will automatically do file based dependencies if you don't specify a package that satisfies that dependency. It really seems to be more a problem with the tools for packaging than the RPM format as such.
That's correct. If you have testing it the sources list it would update it. The feature isn't in potatos apt(ironically enough), but the newer version should allow you to selectivly upload to packages in testing or unstable. The big problem is that core libraries of often upgraded to versions incompatible with the libraries in stable
although I still don't understand why people are so bent on seeing a dvd on their massive 21 inch monitor rather than their 36 inch tv)
Because not all of us have either a tv or a need for one? If the Software DVD player does an adequate job, then why buy a tv?
The one piece I know of thats missing is Sorenson (sp?) codec quicktime player. anyone doing this, or know of a project that is?
There was talk on the xine mailing list of trying to get Quicktime working in a similar manner to the windows media codecs. The FAQ for mplayer seems to indicate that the mplayer authors looked into doing it, but weren't capable of getting it to work
He's also free to use the XFree86 4.1.0 packages that are currently be tested. They are available through the package maintainers page @ http://people.debian.org/~branden. They may cause problems, or they may not
Don't forget the XVideo/Render/RandR code that the developers are working on. New releases often contain substantial upgrades for video drivers which can improve both speed and stability.
Wordperfect 2000 is it's own can of worms, and frankly isn't worth the price. WINE is far to finicky to work reliably on that large of an application. Many things flat out won't work for me. Trying to open up a power point file in the presentation app caused a crash every single time. So did exporting to pdf. On top of thise I've only seen a patch for fixing the install and uninstall problems present on some distributions, nothing else.

Well, it doesn't list system requirments, but I can tell you the Linux version works on a p3 450 and 64 megs of RAM. 3d acceleration isn't needed.
Why is your name so tough to remember?

Actually it can handle more than one server at a server at a time, you just have to try the newer versions.
Last I checked, it was still the 14th in New York

I've only used DirectX to play around with, but isn't it related to ActiveX in that they are both interfaced through COM primarily?

July second, I think (maybe the first). If I had to guess it was probably a celebration. It celebrates the establishment of the Canadian government.

Someone already wrote a program to strip Cascading Style sheets and called it DeCSS for this very reason. http://www.pigdog.org/decss/.
bad Mongoose. Quit humping oc's leg.
Your right, it is card specific. G450s, Rage 128, and Radeons can now function in 32 bit mode.

you probably mean slink not sid (sid is unstable) :)
