I'm referring mostly to driving on I-10, especially between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. At a measly 70mph, you will get run over by just about everyone. In the city..I hit hear 60mph on city streets quite often...where they've been repaved post Katrina.

    70mph isn't high speed.

Hell, you try to keep at 70mph on most highways down here in LA, and you'll get run over with people giving you dirty looks for going too slow....

Heck, we easily hit 60mph on city streets around here at times and places....that's what radar detectors are for.

Actually, you're seeing them two years late. The movie first comes out in theaters. Then 52 weeks later it comes out on DVD. Then 4 weeks later, after the holiday, it hits Redbox and Netflix. Over the next 48 weeks it has already disappeared from Redbox, making it an $8 rental for the month if you aren't already a Netflix subscriber.

That may be right...but the movie is new to ME, so what difference does it make?

I do Netflix, but not the streaming, I rent the Blurays.

Not just tickets. Seizures. Almost every place in the US has zero tolerance civil forfeiture laws where a city or county can confiscate a vehicle if there is any marijuana in it, even if the police officer has to provide it.

Even without planting evidence, it is like winning the lotto because a good number of impounded vehicles end up at auction.

So, done right with 1-2 seizures a day, it can add up to six to seven digits of income for the city/county over time.

I swear, I'd LOVE to be able to sneak up to some of the local Police cars and alter the motto they have on them to something more realistic:

What you say is fine for most movies, but not for holiday movies. Say a DVD comes out just before a holiday, such as Hop right before Easter. It won't hit Redbox and Netflix DVDs until after the holiday. Wait a year for the next holiday and it won't be in Redbox anymore.

I guess I pretty much end up seeing all "new" movies, about a year late then...

I pretty much only(/B> rent then when they're available on Netflix. I've not been to a real movie theater in years, I just rent.

So, this way, I've never had a holiday movie I couldn't watch on the holiday.

I always eat at the bar for parties of 3 or less, because WTF is wrong with waiters, fill my damned drink, at $5/glass, getting one or 2 extra rounds for a table is decent pocket money (4*2*5*.2 is $8 minimum), and making be happy will bring up the tip too.

Bartenders always seem to understand this, so I sit at the bar.

And this way, you're also closer to the person pouring your drinks, and your tip (and personality) can directly influence the pour of your beverage which is a benefit too!! Plus, the bartender gets your full tip, not a % of the servers tip at the end of the night for this meal.

But only for 1-2 people really, a bartender isn't usually set up to wait on a TON of people for food and drinks, ANd run the service bar for the waiters.

In many countries poor people not only eat healthier food but also tastier than most people here. It's amazing what you can make with a little bit of rice or pasta and some vegetables and spices for virtually no money if you know how to prepare it. In the US poor people will eat garbage fast food daily in their comfy sofa in front of a big screen TV and complain that they are fat because they are poor.

Yeah..I don't get the poor eating fast food thing...it is notcheap to eat fast food!!??

I rarely eat fast food, especially burgers. I've not been to a BK or a Wendy's in probably a couple years or more...I've been on the road lately, and stopped to have some. I got a couple of their new burgers (about $0.90 more than their regular burgers), a large fry, large drink and dessert...fscking cost me almost $16??!?!?

The burgers were NOT large...not like they show on TV ( when did the Whopper shrink so much?). For $16, I could have bought plenty of good food at the grocery store and cooked something from scratch that would have fed me much more satisfyingly and healthier for at least 3-4 meals.

Why don't poor people shop for veggies and the protein of the week on sale at the grocerys store and COOK? It is cheaper and healthier than eating garbage fast food.

    It is ignorance?
