This has been a pattern in sit-coms for a while -- doofus husband, whip-smart wife.

And to be more specific, it is an overweight, white guy that is the doofus.

You don't see this with Asians, Hispanics or Blacks....at least not with a mixed set of actors, if it is mixed the white guy is the dumb one. If an all Black show for instance, you will sometimes seen the doofus male...

It is political correctness in general, you can't make fun of anyone, besides straight white mails. Family Guy, while making fun of white males..is about the only exception to the rule I stated above...I've been amazed how they do seem to get by with so much, that is not seen on any other television show currently out today.

But seriously...being a leader and dressing at least a little more cicely than your subordinates, does help keep things in order strangely enough.

I'd say go with what many of us do...dress casual for days you're not crawling under 'cob-webby' desks....nice cotton slacks, nice polo style shirt, or even a comfy button down one with the sleeves rolled up would be nice. Polo 'brand' of either of these, would be nice....they're a little $$, but I find they are quality made and do hold up to a lot of wearing/washing cycles. And they look nice and classic.

For days you may be crawling around...wear a decent shirt, and jeans.

If your going to be public facing at all....try to get a feel for the customer's/vendor's dress level coming in, and try to match that....if you are business casual, when speaking to them, tell them that it is business casual there when inviting them....so they will know they don't have to go the jacket/tie route that is often expected in those situations.

Just a random thought: NBC video should be free. They were given a license to broadcast over the airwaves (which belong to the People) and should be sharing the NBC-Broadcast video for free over the air and the net. Else they should have their license revoked.

First, I agree largely with your sentiment, but I would point out...that NBC *is* broadcasting video free over the air, all you need is a tv and an aerial to receive and watch it.

But, that license isn't applicable to anything they do over the internet....? I mean, that is money above and beyond air transmission....and wasn't included in the broadcast license for the spectrum they are licensed to use.

The FCC really only has say over transmission over the air...not what companies do over the internet, if they did, then I'd have to get some kind of approval or license from the FCC for anything you or I put up or stream over the internet ....and I kinda would like to keep it that way...

If police placed a device on my car that told them where I was 24/7, I'd consider that an invasion of privacy.

Having traffic plate scanners all over the place seems like an extension of case #2 where the police are checking license plates on their own..

Actually, it is MUCH closer to #3 than #2.

With these scanners all over the place (and eventually they will be)...they are scanning everyone and compiling data on everyone...so, it is trivial to find where anyone was at any given time.
