I mean come on, this guy has written the dumbest article on earth which noone would be interested in. He put it up on his personal website, cheapbooks.com of course. cheapbooks.com ?! Of course he didn't stop, he placed a banner on the top of the page! Do you have an idea how many thousands people have gone through that page? Someone out of them statistically will click that banner. Is this the latest trick? Submit a dummy article to/. to get exposure?
for christ's sake THIS IS NOT NORMAL. This might be everyday news in Kenya but NOT IN A DEMOCRACY. I can't do much from here but you americans have to PROTEST and i'm talking BIG PROTESTS. This wouldn't have been allowed to go this far in any european state, I am sure. Maybe because every europan state has all of Europe watching over it, but there's nobody watching over America, so put and END to this this is going too far.
I am not disappointed by Kerry's defeat as most people are. That is, not in the way most people are. You see, being a foreigner, the victory of a candidate over another really wouldn't affected me much, after all it was not "my" election anyway. Of course I knew that Kerry would have proven more sensible to the global issues, the ones that directly concern me (I'm talking about terrorism, war, environment). I had other reasons to hope in his election. What Kerry's defeat means to me is the death of an ideal.. The ideal of a people who *thought*, knew when they were being deceived, and reacted. As Abe Lincoln said, "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time." Well, apparently someone can. Someone sto stupid, incompetent, evidently corrupted. His doctrine worked, he succeeded keeping the Americans in a state of confusion, misinformation, terror (with a little help by good ol' Osama three days before the election), I now doubt they'll ever wake up from. Nothing worked. The activists, the artists, Michael Moore, they all failed. "This time -I thought- they know him, they know what he did to them and to the world, they will react". What a fool I've been. But let me spend a few words about the system, by the way. You see, one would expect the oldest democracy in the world to be an example of legality, transparency and conduct to the rest of the world, especially when it comes to the elections. I find it simply unconceivable that politic parties may be financed by privates. This thing leads to funny situations like Diebold financing George Bush *and* providing voting machines. It's simply r-i-d-i-c-o-l-o-u-s! Here we still vote with paper&pencil and you pretty much can't go wrong with it! No misplaced holes, no misterious electronics, just a tick in a box. We barely ever quarrel about ballots. And what about exit polls coming out *as people vote*? Dude, here you have to close *each* and *every* poll before any information about the vote may be publicly spreaded, otherwise you're actually hijacking the elections! I hoped that, if Kerry had won, he would have done something about it. Now I don't know what's next... Different colors for different ballots, mussolini style? What to say, I really hope Bush pulls his head out of his ass cause he's done enough harm already. God, what a sad day.
It's obvious they're just exploiting the momentum raised by Reeve's death to make it look like a "due tribute" or something. This is hollywood at its best.
