    Of course when a business takes such an approach, the licensing authorities (sic) will make the assumption that you are a crook, and they will watch carefully and wait for you to screw up -- and then sue your ass (arse, in Canada).

    I'd love to see a change to the SMTP spec so that the first 100k of any email is severely rate limited on a per connection basis.

    So, you send out an email with a 2 MB attachment, everything works as usual, save for the slower first 100k.


    How would this impact the spammers?

    They would just send fewer emails with more people in the BCC list. One email gets sent from the client and then the load gets put onto the servers sending it to all the recipients.

    Putting in arbitrary delays will only piss more people off. Sure, getting more people angry about SPAM may be a good thing to try and wipe it out but I think you may be going about it the wrong way.

    Your filter would be better off using a bayesian method on both directions of communication.

    Put them in together, make of it what you will, these numbers mean nothing anyway. Too many hosts turn off version reporting or fill it with false data.

    Anyway, how big is the hosting market compared to the desktop market? What is the leading distro on the desktop?

    I don't think many of these articles are meant to be funny (not that many of them are funny anyway). Some of them are completely valid issues that when read out of context seem funny. So leave MS alone on this one and have a go at the people who think they are funny.

    I guess you didn't read the articles or else you would know that. I shouldn't be surprised really.

    Not that I'm in any hurry to vote Labour, either, so it's looking like a dice-roll-for-the-independent election this year.

    As an Australian I am scared what the next election will bring. The people that hate the Liberals will spread their vote across all other candidates leaving the Liberal supporters only voting for Little Johnny and his mates giving them a huge victory.

    Then that word 'madate' will get dragged back out and belted out over ever piece of legislation the Libs want forced through parliament.

    I think the best we can hope for is a hung parliament with some Democrats or Greens holding the balence of power. Should make for a real government...

    8 valve engines are generally less efficient due to combustion chamber design and volumetric efficiency. Plus they are cheaper to manufacture, making them perfect for Brazil.

    65 hp at 7,500 rpm is pretty good out of a 660 cc engine, and being a small capacity would also mean its longevity would be quite good too.

    If only we could change the petrol engines over to hydrogen engines (from clean power sources) and we will be set.

    The new Lexus hybrid sports cars show great promise... 350 kW total when the electric motor is assisting.
