    It did not _completely_ ignore it, it mentions on the last page that many changes have been made to the kernel.

    Wikipedia is no longer blocked, but some specific pages (Tibet, Fulan Gong) are. I just tried accessing Flickr, and had no problem. The BBC is still blocked.

    Actually it seemed to be different in different places. BBC and Flickr was blocked everywhere I tried but Wikipedia was blocked only at the office but not in my apartment.

    I have been to china several times and I can't recall having seen a case of "content filtering", but then again I have not looked for it. However sites are blocked, last time I could not reach bbc, flickr or wikipedia as a few examples.

    Now bookmarks always open a new tab. FF behavior is better. Left click ->same tab, middle click ->new tab.

    It works like that in the panel though.

    Some french journalists tried to do that with Surtsey in 1963, but it did not work, the island appeared in Icelandic waters and thus is Icelandic.

    If this turns out to be true then those guys with comments like "I will be dead anyway before the environment changes significantly" do really have something to worry about.

    Also it's estimated that two-thirds of the coral reefs will be gone in 30 years which is about the same timescale as the melting of the ice in the article.

    Yes, and I remember this article that found out that it was often the anonymous edits that added the actual content to Wikipedia while the registered accounts merly acted as a big cleanup crew, fixing spelling errors and moving stuff around.

    But most of all: Make sure you're doing something you like.

    Maybe obvious but I definitely consider this point to be the most important of all. You should not go into the IT sector if you just think it's ok, you should like it or even better love it.

    Anyway why encrypt everything when it is the data (and not all of it) that you want to encrypt?

    Because you can not trust your system to never write this data on another location on the disk.

    used to think it was just poor management, but now you have open source projects with thousands of eyes looking at every line of code.

    The number of eyes looking at a random sourceline is probably quite low. That you can look at it does not mean that many do so.

    I thought the chance of transfer through sex was about 1 or 2 %, so not getting it is not exactly like winning the powerball lottery everytime.

    Even if the average person has downloaded it 10 times, that still means over 10 million people are using it worldwide.

    Download != using, it might just as well only be people trying it out and returnig to some other browser.
