Maybe a custom script to grab a few bytes out of urandom and then randomly write them to your HD in various spots would help you overcome this obstacle!
At least we could say that Microsoft is doing what they do best for the good of all:)
Funny how what we'd normally consider bad suddenly turns for the good.
exactly! I tried to make this point in a post earlier but someone gave me 100% overrated and a -1 modifier. XSL is for XML. CSS is for styleling they are 2 different kids on the block. how can you compair them?
XSL was never made to be a replacement for CSS XSL was made to translate XML data into XHTML and thus making XML data readable. CSS was made to enhance the appearance of XHTML/HTML pages.
The ONLY simularity between the 2 is that they enhance the appearance of something. Personally I do not think that you can compair the 2 as 1 being better than the other. they were made for different things how can you compair the 2? it's like saying a plane is better than a car. Can you use CSS to make XML look better?.. yes.. was it made to do that? I'd say not but it's completely possible to do so. was XSL made to be better than CSS?.. No it was made for XML.
I don't know why it's such a big thing on who hit the site at all. are you embarassed that you downloaded a security tool? is it wrong to download it?.. of course not. so who cares?
asking for the main website's logs just gives you who downloaded what. but that doesn't account for the people that get nmap from say... red hat?.. gentoo mirrors.. etc. are they going to ask for the world's web logs?
!! poland.. how could I forget them. my bad on that. do you have a date for that tho? I do know we have the first computer bug;) that was posted a while ago on slashdot.
as for the first automobile when I was writing it I was thinking mass-produced I guess. so yes your right on that one.
as for the first. I consider the first successful anything to be the first. not the first to attempt.
so your saying that the little kid that drew a space ship on the back of his test is the inventer of that?
I hardly think that an artist who merely drew designs and never could pull them off could be describe as the inventer.
I'd have to say that this is the first good post I've seen and obviously the moderater is among those you mentioned by -1 Flamebait.
out of all the posts it seems that most of you seem to think that it's your god given right to "own" music that people have worked hard to produce for free.
what's next? hey look farmers their fields are wide open lets go pick our own fruits and vegatables! but oh can't procecute you for doing so I mean we didn't know you've not ate for a few days..
there are place were you can go and get a free meal. Stealing isn't Ok because your hungry there are places to get help
how does this relate to music?
you don't _NEED_ music to live if you wanna listen to something and don't have money? turn on the fucking radio! it's FREE.
Oh no they don't place Then request it!
1 of you said that until they understand why people are doing it they can't begin to understand it. it's stealing no matter how you look at it I'm sorry if your parent(s) or school system didn't teach you well enough to understand that, guess the "no child left behind" act isn't up to full swing yet.
Maybe cuz KDE people acually post it on slashdot where as Gnome doesn't? if You want to get a Gnome release mentioned.. why don't YOU do it instead of complaining?
common sense in this plays a big part.. kill is a command line app only konsole isn't.. I say command line app with the fact in mind that I know of no one that has kill in their KDE/Gnome Menu.
for the most part users that use kde or gnome use the menu's to access programs and can easily see that a program with a K prefix in it is a KDE app.. and one that starts with G is gnome. this sort of naming style is very nice to see those differences without having to open the program IMO
true maybe java is faster at a few things. but IMO it can never load as fast as a C program. reason? A java VM must first be loaded.
i read a post earlier that said that there is a VM that can run things faster. I say bullshit. if you can make an interpreter run code faster than native what are the chances of you just coding a native program that runs even faster than that? I think pretty high. reason being an interpreter must read the program then execute it. coding native you can just skip the interpret part.
I love java. it's multi-platform and you don't need to compile it on 10 billions different systems just so everyone can use it. I hate java because everything runs slow. i'll stick to koffice before I'll go to openoffice.org. Why? koffice loads faster (and looks better, isn't better yet..:) ).
in every language you have a up and down. perl does regular expressions the best (IMHO), asm you can optimize it at a very low level, java multiple platforms.
you can't really have a flame battle about what language is the best. there is no "best" language there is no 'fastest' language. it all depends on what needs to be done, the programmers experience with the language, the amount of time spent on the project and the compiler.
I agree to what you say. it is a mind set but then at the same time you have to realize how programming businesses work. this is sorta bias being i've only ever had 1 programming job. but it makes sense to a certain degree. the company policy it seemed was get things out as fast as you can. it doesn't matter if they work well.. they just have to work. this causes many many problems when you go back to update the code later. you end up spending more time working through this horribly written code and you can't clean it up because it would take too much time and time is money! just about by the time I got done with projects it was hacks upon hacks. and the code was so messy I wanted to scream. if Microsoft really wanted to fixed up Windows my best advice for them is to clean the code. and make sure the code they have is the best it can be BEFORE they even consider going on to something else. will this cost them money?.. I'd say yes. everyone love new features. but in the long run.. they will only gain MORE money. this point was missed at my job. money now.. that is what they wanted. everything is about the here and now.. it's like the society has come to a mind set of if we don't think about the here and now.. there will be no future. here and now is good. but lets concentrate on what can we do here and now FOR the future.
he maybe no xbox expert. but he makes a damn good keyboard layout;)
my hands feel cramped now that I have to type on qwerty again.. evil laptops and thier inability to easily change the keys around:(
I believe times change. and sincerily hope that MS does get thier act together and release a system that is close/just as secure as any *nix based system.
as for a previous post. there are OSs that are better for certain tasks they were designed in this fasion. a microwave OS is not the best OS to play games on it wasn't designed with that in the original plan.
I'm not saying that OSs can't change thier approch tho. MS tried to change their approch with the NT series. and IMO they did a damn good job. it's far better than the Dos/9x series. and really I don't know of anyone *nix fan or not that wouldn't agree with that.
reason I want MS to put out a secure and stable system is so that servers will stay up I get tired when my Net slows down because there is a new virus out there that's using up all the BW.
1 thing I will agree with is more users using an OS.. more virus'.. but with linux for example. yes there will be virus' made. there has been in the past.. but they were fixed so quickly it's almost useless to even spend the time. BIG difference with windows. you can take a virus made for 95 and chances are someone is still running it.. and it'll still work.
I see alot of whys... why not?.. sorry to say but japan IS a leader in technology... why not have something interesting and has a story line?... Anime is a not just a bunch of perverted scenes in fact I know of many series that do not have any of these sort of things
mkdir /a

darn enter key... always hit it too quick :(

No that is why XP was nicknamed eXtra Porn ;)

I did not see anything in his post that would warrent such a rude comment. how this got to be 3 funny is beyond me.
I knew I was doing something wrong!

America is not Intellectual?
Who invented the Airplane, Car, first electric computer?
I think America is pretty damn intellectual and for that I'll stand up for my country.

only experience with .NET was with ASP. and I HATED it.
.NET may be improving but Java is Far better IMHO.
the redundent properties (Asp:repeater's header and footer anyone?)
the bad C# intergration problems made going to work a nightmare.
C# in itself is a nightmare to look at compaired to C/C++ or even java.
Finally the IDE's autoformatting pissed me off so much I thought about doing it in notepad.
