  2. Sounds reasonable! on 64% of Online Gamers Are Female · · Score: 1

There is no reason to think that women are that different from men when it comes to online gaming.

When I installed WOW and started out, I thought of the low WAF when it comes to spending hours on online killing sprees and other such mayhem fun.

So I introduced my wife to the game.
And now she is having as much fun as I do, exploring the world and enjoying the game.

Women can enjoy, running arround with a warhammer banging monsters, just as much as anybody else!

So lets face it! There is no 'math gene' and some of the female avatars actually are women.

Could be that the Israelis are just trying to make excuses for loosing.

It sounds better that Hezbollah won, because they were eavesdropping, than admitting that the Israeli army made a bad job.
Especially since, this is the first time ever, the Israeli army has failed in doing what they came for.

  6. Re:Overrated on Beck and Andres on Extreme Programming · · Score: 1

I agree that it is, as any 'great' programming paradigm, XP is overrated. But I think you are extremely unfair in your absolute judgment over it.
I have good experience using various parts of it. Pair programming one of them, though I didn't know what it was called, before XP labeled it.
Actually. A lot of the bad code you see around stems from 'lone ranger' coders, not realizing the fact that, programming like most other disciplines, is collaborate work.
Except for kitchen table projects most code is written with other people. Other programmers, designers, project managers, users ( damned be the last two) , and other stakeholders. XP addresses a lot of the problems you have when collaborating with these and so it can help you to get more time to code.

BTW: If it is the prospect of social contact that frightens you, just, develop a severe case of schizophrenia and pair up with the other you;-).

  7. "high prices"? on Low Emission Cars Continue to Gain Popularity · · Score: 1

I'm not sure I can relate to "$3" as highly priced gasoline. In most of Europe, we pay about $7-8 pr. gallon(we call it 'market price'). It was about $5-6 before we sent the guys down to Iraq. So 3 dollars/gallon would generally be considered an open invitation to by bigger cars and just drive them around for pleasure. But hybrids is no news. We have had electric cars on the streets for some years. But I welcome any initiative there lessens the dependancy of oil. I mean: If we waste it all on energy consumption, we really need to find something else to use in industry(for lubrication and other uses, where we cant replace oil with hydrogen/wind/whatever)
