the idea of buying a tablet PC during the now-dead Internet Appliance boom. I finally realised the offerings at the time weren't worth the money. A company, Qubit Incorporated (dead link, given for posterity) based out of Denver, Colorado had some very attractive offerings and made a very large splash at Comdex 2000. It would appear Qubit is now defunct. There seems to be very little actual demand for Tablet PCs, and demant will probably remain very low until they become *very* cheap.
I remember seeing an advertisement for movietickets.com when I saw the new Bond film and several times previous to that in the past year. It seems to have completely flopped here; my local theatre isn't even set up to accept the online tickets and lacks the barcode scanners which are necessary to admit a customer. I actually saw a family get turned away after having purchased tickets to a 'participating' theatre. Is this another dot-bomb, or does anyone have positive stories about this service to report?
are numerous X-Windows builds for Windows. I use StarNet's X-Win32 myself, on of course the rare occasions that I'm forced to use Windows. What do you have to say about that?
know what SpamAssassin does, but what I do know is that it works marvelously. Occasionally, a rogue spam does make it into my inbox without being tagged. I wonder, will the opening of the Spam Archive be beneficial to the SpamAssassin developers, or does the SpamAssassin algorithm rely only on new stuff?
I propose genetically engineered rodents whose lung tissue bonds with rubber particles, which in turn are eaten by stray cats that are attracted by extra-potent rodent pheromones. The cats are then collected and forced to vomit. Then the vomit is taken to the Springfield Perpetually Burning Tire Fire and set ablaze! Woah nellie, talk about a flash of insight into the mind of Rube Goldberg!
