ahhh might be true about Legend of dusks bracelet (though the copy of the tokyopop manga i have next to me says legend of the twilight bracelet) but.hack//sign was never a manga first, it was always a anime and there is no complete translation of the anime to a manga in japan or the us.
You ARE right about the other anime though.and its set to be on cartoon network along with the purchased rights to Z gundam (which will both be a adult swim and a edited toonami version)
since the game ends at number 4 which has already been coded for the PS2 and released in Japan (the US release is next month I believe) It is highly unlikely that.hack will switch over to the GameCube.
Now, from what I have read there wont be a sequal videogame wise, the whole deal was for it to be a anime (.Hack/sign) then the next part video game (.hack for PS2) then finalizing the story in a manga (.Hack key of the twilight) but then again bandi just relesed a card game using the characters but that has no bearing on the 10 year storyline so who knows.
The only thing we do know is.hack will never be a mmorpg, the creator said so himself that there are enough of them out there and he refuses to let the characters be used in that way, he would rather simulate it so users without broadband can get the feel of it without paying out huge gobs of money rather than make a online version of "The World"
Besides who wants to play in a game where you can get put into a coma:-D
Honestly playing other MMORPG in comparison to Liniage, Liniage has so many advantages to the ones here.
The biggest is I can use a 56k modem and not worry about major slowdowns, it runs with such a low bandwith that I have had my gf's connection drop to 30k and still have it run great.
Likewise while its graphics aren't cutting edge, but it works for the game (its graphics can be likened to Diablo 1) it helps with slower computers and is not so hardware dependant as a lot of these other games which practically force you to buy a better computer
Plus the whole blood pledge aspect really works well for the game, and forces you to talk and be active, not some lone gamer which I have noticed has statrted to be the case with other games with companies forcing to get more people playing.
OK enough being a fan boy, what I would like to know is how is nintendo doing in the market? I dont find it too bias since I can see why people would be oppose to xBox with it being a US system that doesnt have much history in Asia, no mater how good it is. Honestly anyone who has read the book "The Complete History of Video Games," can see how gamers have likes and dislikes that go far from just being whats better. It can be also how much the public likes the company, how many good games there are (one is never enough) and even as wierd as how it looks. Honestly my first impression of the Xbox (aside from the oh great heres Microsoft buying the video gamming world since no one is insain enough to code for it) was that it looks like a peice of shit. The gamecube wasnt great, but I can get it in a color I like and likewise matched my decore, and the Playstation 2 had a upscale look that while a gaming system, also didnt call too much attention to its self next to my TV and VCR eespecially when I had a date over and decided to pop in a DVD..
I have, and I actually own one myself, actualy I own two.
The problems have to do with first gen icebook models which have not a motherboard problem but a problem with their connections to the inverter. While yes I do believe apple dropped the ball on this one, the later ones dont have the problems (which is what I have) and if you hassle them a little bit (ie talk to the supervisor not the phone monkey) , even if you dont have applecare or it ran out they have been fixing the older ones for free.
But I seem to remeber Dell having a simular problem with its computers recently where they recalled a bunch, in fact of 120 new dell desktops we bought 30 have been sent back for repairs to their boards after 1 year and 5 didnt work at all OUT OF THE BOX) and I have already told you about my two friends numerous HP fiascos.
I could remeber explicitly back when I got my cellphone in 1998 that the verizon (well then bell atlantic) guy told me and my family that since you pay for the minutes, its against the law to have telemarketers call your cellphone, much like it is for the to fax you, and if you got the info, still penalties could be inposed on them.
now I put my cell on the do not call list just incase, but still is that law in existance, or was it just for NJ or what was the case with that.
Shit like this is why I think you should be able to read the incomming phonenumbers and why private lines should be gotten rid of, too often its these assholes who hang up before they tell your who they are when you catch them. I know of only one person who has a private line who actually needs it for a reason I wont go into.
Yes it is true, a base Apple system loaded with everything you need (with plenty of free Unix software if your inclinded to go that route) and a system reliability thats beyond anything on the wintel side (Im still using my 1999 300 mhz b/w g3 running OS X.2.8 as a constant use personal computer, not just to play games and get mail like my buddies 900 mhz p3 turned into after 2 years and one major crash that sent his computer to HP for a motherboard replacement) is a few hundred dollars more.
But then I guess thats why my SE 30 is also still running and is still used at my house and will be my childs computer someday.
Guess what, $300 dells are to a yugo to $800 mac are to a BMW, you get what you paid for and the more you pay the better it will last and be used in the future. I dont understan the mentality of buy a 800 top of the line system only to replace it in 2 years. Heck my buddies 700 1.4ghz HP he bought to replace his old HP is dying after a year, it cant even play the freaking.net chime without hanging up a second. The last time I had that happen on my mac was when I was running 8.6 on a LCII.
but of course you will never see that, sometimes money is money to some people and just like its hard to justify a 40,000 dollar car to some people (granted I am one of those people) its the same in justifying a 2000 personal computer.
I know tons of people who still run it for their programs cause they dont have the money to upgrade.
There reasoning is usually along the lines of
" I dont need the internet and I dont need email, if it still works why fix it?"
you know you could have told your friend to not sync it since its set up to prompt if you want to or not (and thus if you want to delete the iPod.
the reason apple set it up the way they did is cause of the RIAA, they where getting crap thanks to the RIP,MIX,BURN add as it was and needed to settle things with the RIAA.
THANK YOU,
I was going too say EXACTLY the same thing, I have used 2 monitors before, and other than doing video and graphics editing doing ANYTHING IT related it maybe sped me up all of 1 or 2 seconds.
Even when I was Editor in Chief of my school newspaper, and used two monitors, I found myself on one more often than the other 90% of the time, and infact found more effort in forcing myself to use both of them instead of working with just one.
So everyone stop posting price complaints, its NOT $720 here, that was the exchange rate from Japan!!!!! Stuff is ALWAYS cheaper here. I wouldnt be surprised if its 300-400 dollars, especially since a lot of the inside rumors pointed to it being around there.
you have to remeber thats about how much the PS2 cost when it came out, in JAPAN.
thats the problem with converting money, it may seem like a lot for us, but its actually much less in terms of how much the other country is making (and vise versa for third world nations where 100 bucks is like 1 million)
its $720 IF you lived in Japan and paid in US dollars, its most likely going to be 300-400 with the likelyhood being closer to 400 here.
ahh but it goes further than that, he has NEVER done anything but followed the indusry. Look at DOS (stolen using a divorce settelment that neither party realized what the other was doing and in the end DR DOS ended up in Bills hands, Windows (stolen by backsourcing the code they got from apple when Microsoft was coding the original Appleworks), even.Net (hmm AOL anyone???)
All of it has been either copying, stealing, or both. Honestly the only person who is worse in this industry is Michael Dell, who emulates everything and then says HE invented it (anyone remeber when durring a press conference HE said he created 802.11b and Dell was the first to put it into it's laptops a YEAR after Apple and Sony did it.)
but regardless this was based on agenda so its not who's most powerful, and I think maybe Bill should be number one, what with all the press releases saying they are going to fix the swiss cheeese that is XP (yes I know you have to have at least cheese to have holes in it while XP is really more one GIANT hole, but saying air isnt as cool)
Weirding Way = The books (every one of them, though I dont know about the Jihad ones since it takes place before the sisters are formed)
Weirding Modiles = The movie, which was a pretty pathetic way to represent a fighting style, I persoanly like the Sci-Fi ones where it was a martial arts style (even if it was quiet a bit like Neo in the Matrix)
Cause every year my school (Montclair State University) uses it to show its good and the honest truth is the school SUCKS and basically rapes you of money and gives you no education for what you paid.
I mean they closed down the TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT!!! just so they could build a bigger building on campus
HA my uncle used to work for microwarhouse (well datacomwarehouse) tech department. He left when they where paying the people he was hiring more money than he as a manager made!!!
First off your right the windowing enviroment is not KDE or GNOME, its designed with a OS 9 and prior user in mind. BUT it doesnt preclude the use of X apps since you can infact run X apps no problem with X11 which is a free download FROM APPLE!!!! Panther will actually have this built in BTW.
Second unless you have been living under a rock Darwin has a huge thriving open community and has full access to a lot of the OS from Apple.
Third Mach is neXt NOT Apple, yes owned by Steve, but the true story on how they came to use is is actually a really interesting read and has more to do with the man who created OS X than it does anything Apple told the team to do (Apple had their own kernal that was trashed by the guy)
And everything in netinfo is able to be done in terminal so dont open your mouth unless you know what the hell your talking about.
And of course they locked users in.... THEY ARE A HARDWARE COMPANY NOT A SOFTWARE COMPANY!!!! I hate when people miss the fact that Apple supports its self on hardware, NOT software. Why the hell do you think they killed off the clones, they where losing money big time to the point of going under.
Im confused, I was under the impression windows always had auto updating, just no one ever used it???
Eh its a great thing anyway, I use it all the time in OS X, its nice cause you still have to select the software (if its not a system dependant thing like iMovie) and type in your password to allow it to install. It will download it without the password, but in order to install it you must put the admin password in.

Judge "You use your cellphone about once every half hour right?"
Lawyer "Yeah"
Judge "Have you gotten a tumor yet?"
Lawyer "No"
Judge "There's your proof its safe asshole"
course if only the real world was this easy
thank god im geeky enough to have gotten that one. And that my girlfriends geeky enough to have dressed up as Lady Suburu :-D

not entirely true I had no problem copying my music over to my new computer, not a problem at all playing them.

Is that they PLEASE port it to OS X!!!!
nonono not hosting slashdot, host a site that gets slashdotted. THAT would be a stress test
Im purposly bringing home a 5500 from work this week that we are scraping cause I cant play them in classic and want to play them badly.
He asked for a raise, they refused, so he left.
What a troll
better yet there is a game boy color version of shadowgate out there too!!!!!
