Um???? both a Mac and a PC cost thousands and thousands if you trip them out to like everthing you can ever put in the system, yet both are cheap when you just get a basic model, its the same philosophy as cars you know...

Anyway, it is a battle cause everyone wants a winner even if there is no point.

Nintendo will alway have the youth market cause it makes great games for children, none of the other systems comes close.

Sony will always have a huge following cause they have a good system thats backwards compatable with a lot of decent games on both platforms, heck my girlfriend just bought a PS1 so many years AFTER it came out cause she loved the RPG's they had and is waiting for the PSX so didnt want to spend the money on a PS2. And yes I know people are like it sucks, but you know what, I LOVED the DVD feature, cause I didnt have a dvd player when I bought it, nor do I really have the space to have BOTH a dvd player and a game system in my appartment.

The xbox might win out in the future, but they have to buy there way there, which I feel is cheating but whatever. Some third parties are finally signing on (as opposed to advoiding it like it was a black hole when it first came out to the point that Microsoft bought game companies to write for it cough Bungie cough) The thing that will kill the xbox is that the Japanese HATE it. Microsoft could put a 50 inch plasma screen into the system and they will never like it cause they have a deep seated hatred for Microsoft and Bill Gates. The american market is big, but it seems to be the norm of if you cant get it big in Japan (where a lot of the system games are naufactured and developed, if you look a lot of the xBOx's games have been former PC games that where reworked for the system instead, Halo and such) then your going to be small here.

Of course the defining thing will be, who could get their system out first.

anyway, when we started out, my school had 5 OS's!!! Windows was number 1 ovbiously, with Mac OS 8/9 (they really didnt keep up admin on them) with Solaris, Red Hat, and one other *nix I cant remeber (think it might have been IBM's)

Trust me your going to be a goddsend when you come to college (if you do) if you learn Mac, Win, and at least two good *nix's, you will never want for a job cause your friends and teachers will PAY YOU to help them (I make 200 a week easy thanks to friends refuring me to help them cause IT is so swamped)

For a long time we we where a tri-platform school, Windows in the high school and with the secretaries, macs in the middle school and elemetary school (with a few in the highschool for video and graphics courses.) and two machines running linux for a management software called SAMS.

In comes our new tech adviser to help us expand everything, what does he do, tries to get rid of all 2500 iMacs we have and buy computers from Dell, to supliment our 250 PC's. Yes thats right trash BRAND NEW computers in some cases just to make everything two platform (he tried to trash the linux boxes but was hit with a block when we showed him SAMS only works good on linux)

Its not IT people who make these desicions, its administators, some of whom have never taught in a classroom (this guy doesnt even have a degree in education) who make stupid decision without asking "why are you running things like that?"

After seeing that we only had one part time IT member for the Mac's though and 3 full time and 3 part time staff members for the PC's( in all fareness we all do all three platforms but we have specializations I the mac guy, and everyone else specialized in some perticular way with a part of the OS or network admin), the board of education made him back down or risk getting his contracts ripped up, and as it is after its up he is probably not comming back, but still this is the situation you run into, and IT staff sometimes gets little more say than yes sir no sir.

Heck even when I suggested getting eMacs cause they where cheaper (we could buy more software or equipment for the teachers, or dare I say TRAINNING since they where using OS X instead of 9) I was turned down cause they wanted the fancy iMacs that my assistant super. had. Forget I ever try to save them money again!!!

Even as recent as 3 years ago there was still fighting between them which is why this new FF game for nintendo is such a surprise As for the ganon blood issue, what I find funny is the re-released gamecube version of OOT actually keeps the green blood vs. the red blood in the original print (which my girlfriend has) Its kinda funny given Eternal Darkness and other games of that regard out ther for the Gamecube

Today, all letters have to have return addresses, a few slip through that dont, but any letter that either

    a) has a return address that is far from where the letter is mailed

    b) has no return address, or an invalid one

is inspected and either sent to dead letters, or just takes longer to mail if its found to be ok.

Now letters could always be traced, when I worked at a post office over the summer the year before 9/11 we could trace letters back to the sending department perfectly fine. The barcode on the letter gives both the sending/receving/and transfer stations so the sorter can sort to the right trucks or route when it gets to your home post office.

I could honestly go on and on about the amount of technology that goes into your mail, but Im sure it will bore a lot of people, we had to watch 4 videos on how all the machines work and stuff, and all I did was deliver mail for a summer and never once had to touch any of the sorting equipment which was off limits to all but a few trained people (those are the guys who sit in the orange rooms if you ever look in the back of your bigger post offices, and those are also the ones you usually hear about going crazy cause they spend HOURS there from like 12:00 am to 7-8am) They go through a lot of training trust me.
