    Thanks, guys! It sounds like the answer to my question is to go into contracting, as opposed to salaried employment, which is where I find myself. I'm not complaining; I'm in a good position right now where I've been picking up a lot of skills.

    If you don't mind me asking, how do you get months of time off per year? I've been working a position where I actually have to produce something and get about four weeks off (which supposedly is more than most get), but I would like to know how a person would go about getting more.

    You may like to know that the US Presidential administration traditionally consists of "departments" with each department having it's head "Secretary". Eg. The Department of Defense is Headed by the Secretary of the Department of Defense. It is widely believed that recent US Presidents have been appointing "Tsars" in order to avoid the Constitutional requirement that the US Senate "confirm" the President's selection of the Department "Secretaries". "Tsar" is not just a catchy name; it is politically expedient.

    For what it's worth, the Japanese shorten all off these names. Since the pronounciation is mangled almost beyond recognition when you pound it into Japanese orthography, there isn't really any reason not to shorten them some arbitrary way.

    Funny you should mention that! I was taught evolution in a Presbyterian school. Of course, I was taught that it was a fallacious theory, but the teachers said that we needed to understand it nevertheless. On one field trip to a museum where we were given a lecture about creation and the dinosaurs, the teacher fell asleep!

    I was listening to that show when that story was told. The host was Rush Limbaugh. Limbaugh's argument was not that the man who lost his job deserved to lose everything. Limbaugh's argument was that what the man needs is not unemployment payments; he needs a job. Of course, Limbaugh blames the job situation on Obama. The caller says that his job was cut in anticipating of higher health care costs resulting from the new health care law.
