AJAX has opened many doors for me, and this addition will help me rule the world. To all those who oppose.... hmmmm well....

but seriously, keep buying IBM and support OSS.

  2. My life completely changed when I got a DVD burner on Recordable Media a Bigger Threat Than Filesharing? · · Score: 1, Insightful

I have to tell you, this thing is great. I am learning a new language and we have several video stores in town that cater to said language. I stop in, rent a DVD, take home, burn, and return. Then I can sit around a watch it as long as I want.

It is funny though, all of the DVDs I rent are copies anyway, so I guess it doesn't really make a difference. And certainly not for the RIAA.

But for those of you who don't support the RIAA, grow some balls and stop buying their products. Seriously, this is the only way that these things are going to end. BOYCOTT! it is ok, it is your right, get to it!

  3. I'm not sure I agree on Bruce Perens on the new Debian Common Core · · Score: 1, Interesting

with the way that some of these distros work. One of the things that really bugs me about the BSD variants is that they are "so stable", "so secure" that they are too out of date. And this is what happened with debian for me.

Not too long ago I was a Debian devotee. I wouldn't touch another distro. But my problem is that I am pretty busy, and if a problem occures, and you don't have the time to fix it, new problems just pop up and pretty soon cleaning up the mess seems too far out of reach.

These guys are talented and devoted to their distro, and they should be. But for a developer like me, who needs a machine running day and night and isn't willing to rejoin the darkside, debian got to be too much work for me to maintain as my desktop system. But for my existing server installations, I wouldn't change a thing. Debian is easy to maintain for standard things: web, print, ... server. So I would recommend it to anyone for those things. Anyway, this isn't a flame post, but my 2 cents. Thanks.

i haven't had dreams about little blocks since tetris. I hate them for releasing this game. SLEEP MUST, NEED , MORE! lol

I love the multiplayer modes. It is an awesome game. I recommend it to everyone.

  5. just give them time on What's Up With The PSP? · · Score: 0

this is the same story with the DS. Too few games, but things will turn around. Personally, I think the PSP price tag is really holding it back. The reason I picked up a DS is because of the price. It's that simple. Meteos is a great game too. If I never buy another game, living with portable Meteos will keep me happy for a long time.

  6. Educators will always remain skeptical on Video Games in The Classroom Case Studies · · Score: 1, Insightful

I read that book about how the "video game" generation approached new problems in a more effective and efficient way. So it doesn't surprise me that educators are having difficulties with this. Some people just don't get it.

But, I think that this sort of research will always be taken with a grain of salt. It is hard for some people to find value in any controversial study... if you want to call this controversial.
