  1. Ill wait and see the actual console when its out on PS3 Cell Processor 'Broken'? · · Score: 0

All this is just speculation, the guy didnt see the actual console, just a powerpoint from some guy! Ill reserve my judgement for when multiple reliable outlets have the unit in their hands and can perform a meaningful analysis of it. I bought a xbox 360 and I can personally tell you that it over heats and has a power brick much larger than a PSP and DS combined that gets incredibly warm, why because I own one! Not because some stranger on a plane told me so. If you get an xbox 360 be prepared to spend an extra $20 for fans.

  2. free games vs mabey perhaps it might break on Microsoft Responds To 360 Hackers · · Score: 0

all free games I can play versus mabey perhaps it might break at some point in the future. I dont condone piracy but the threat of not being able to call microsoft for help if it breaks is really dependent upon them actually being helpful in the first place. Remember they didnt want to recall the xbox powercables that were overheating and burning up people's houses, yeah that helpful. Yes I have called them, and yes its that bad, its like they were told at orientation not to answer the phone until the guy has been on hold for at least one hour. Not only are they all in India, but it seems only five of them. Ugh.

  3. Price issue aside, PS3 vs Xbox360 innovations on Lower-Price PS3 Mostly Upgradeable · · Score: 0

I think everyone is hung up about the PS3 pricetag, I know I am, but just looking at the features on the PS3 even excluding the Blueray functionality I doubt I will use since I dont have a HD-TV, its pretty amazing. The controller on the PS3 has motion sensitivity.
Honestly, I think the xbox360 will be this generations dreamcast, first to market, underpowered, easy to pirate games on without a modchip, and it has a controller that seems outdated to its competitors and its very very white.
And last but certainly not least, the PS3 will ship with linux and will allow homebrew applications! How cool is that? that means it can run all sorts of programs like media centers, emulators, homebrew apps, ftps whatever, and its especially cool since it has a hard drive. Its the ultimate living room computer! Sure it will have limitations, but you wont need a modchip to run something like xbox media center. I cant wait to turn mine into a little bittorrent box that streams media.
Yes $600 is overpriced, but when it comes down, and it will, to aroudn $500 I am going to pick one up. By then the homebrew community will have enough good programs to make it more than a worthy replacement to my venerable modded xbox. Notice I didnt compare it to the Wii, I think the Wii is going to sell like hotcakes and outsell both systems, though that might not necessarily be a good thing.

  4. actually a good way to fight piracy on Sony To Bundle UMDs With DVDs · · Score: 1

This is actually a good way to keep people from downloading movies, I would pay 15-20 bucks for the mobile and home version of a movie. As long as they dont charge way to much for it, and they include things like popular movies (not just nerd movies like resident evil, terminator fifth element etc) and more eclectic content like anime and television series I would be more than happy to buy this...it might even get me to consider buying a psp if it came down to the same price as a nitendo ds (around half what it is now).

regardless of the DRM that will be cracked within a month of release, how could I connect audio and video with one wire? Who has a 8 channel surround sound system built into their television? Stereo/speakers are on a different device than the video...but I do like the idea of not having to have a super thick shielded wire that will not be only like 6 ft long...my monitor wire is stretched to the limit right now.

believe it or not, other countries have many times lower violent crime rates than us...the next closest industrialized country is Italy which has a many times lower homicide rate, even without guns, and other industrialized countries have even lower rates than that. Every other industrialized country is leaps and bounds safer and have lower crime. America is a dangerous place because everybody is paranoid and armed....guns dont kill people...people who think they need guns kill people. Look across the boarder to canada...they also have lower murder rates even for murders without guns involved. We have a violent backwards culture that stresses religeous fundamentalism over scientific progress and greed over community.
